Yeah I know what it is.
There is an updated oil control ring for those with oil burners. Id imagine the surface treatment of the rings is very important for proper break-in. I personally would not want "just" new rings.
The unofficial name for this tsb is tsb# FU79

Well at least you can now be confident that if your car is consuming oil there is knowledge about the problem (not denial) and a remediation process.

I'm jealous, I've never had an unofficial TSB named after me. My wife gave me unofficial names similar to that, less....... (Edited for ratings ;-)

Cool thanks for the info. What does this mean though, if the car is out of warranty will they still fix it? I have to top up my oil every 7000-8000km with about a litre.

Well- my 3/13 built XV 5mt has now shown oil consumption. It has 13,000 on it and 5000 on the oil change. Lost a quart and some change in the last 3000 miles or so.
