Just want to confirm if the part number 11810AA000 that was posted earlier is the correct pcv for the 97/98 ej20k engine. I want to be sure and get the correct one in case the turbo models had a different spring rating or some other internal difference. This part number also crosses to sixty katrillion na subarus, just wanted to double check.

Glad I found this thread again but read through the whole thing this time.

This may sound a little crazy, but here is something I have been thinking of the last day or so.

I know that the ej20k wrx none sti cams fit in the usdm ej25D 96-early 99 legacy, 98 rs and forester heads depending on if it is HLA or bucket with shim over or under.

Now I have a 96 usdm impreza wagon 5 spd and been looking at getting a later 90's phase 1 ej20 DOHC NA none avcs longblock. I already know the ej25D intake manifold will fit as I have like a 97 legacy gt longblock sitting in my parents garage right now.

If the ej25D cams will fit in the ej20 DOHC none avcs heads, then that means the ej20K wrx none sti cams will fit in the ej20 DOHC NA heads. I realize the buckets/shims will have to be adjusted, but would these cams be an upgrade in the ej20 DOHC NA none avcs heads? What about the overlap characteristics or would it matter in this case? I have a 98 rs 5 spd ecu in my wagon so I already have the 6500 redline. Will be using an obx 4-1 EL header.

Thanks guys.

~Josh

Wrong, they could be the VLSD (NOT a MLSD) that uses the dual splined rear axle and the other side is normal. Hard to find those.

This is more of a question for the swaps / conversions and built motor forums. In this thread it could take a while. Did you try the RS25 swaps forum yet? I would help but don't know anything about the differences in overlap, duration and lift on these cams. :/

I'll take a look in there and see if I can come up with something.

Would you happen to know what the compression is of the subaru jdm ej20 DOHC NA none avcs motor is? I am about to buy one and was just wondering.

Could I please get the part number for the check valve and O ring under the Idle air motor in the jdm ej20k engines? They sit in the intake manifold and are held in by the idle motor. Thanks!

Default EJ20G/EJ20K part number thread

Did some digging around and found this site

http://www.carrol.ru/_pages/subaru/i...Fya2V0PT11c2E=

Put my mind at rest, I have a 1996 version 2 STi with EJ20G (model GC8C4ED) on its ways to me. I was worried because I found new photos and the intake wasn't painted red. Thought maybe I bought an untruthful car from auction.

97 ej20k
all 3 timing cover pieces part numbers?
All of mine are cracked and have holes

Also trying to identify this part number and where I can get a replacement?
Circled below. Has something to do with Vac Lines.

As you can see some sort of gel/glue has leaked out of it and into my engine bay

That is the boost solenoid, maybe try Grimmspeed for a bolt in replacement.

My 97 ej20k boost solenoid has three ports...hmmmmm

Here's a pic of when I was first installing everything, you can see the top nipple on mine has a broken piece of hose on it. (where they start melting/leaking)

The three port design has seperate connections to the turbo, wastegate, and the inlet pipe. Even if you have a two port, you can use the three port style.

Gotcha ok thanks. Do you have a pic of it after install? For reference please. You can pm me since we're getting off topic here. Will I need a tune?

Default EJ20G/EJ20K part number thread

I believe the older Jdm ecu can adjust to different mods a lot better then newer cars. I think you could just get a decent MBC and set to desired boost setting. But leave the electronic connector still plugged in on your old boost solenoid as to not throw a check engine code.

I have a pic off the net of the routing of the lines, will try and find it. Mine is now an aftermarket 3 port. I ran the jdm 1S ecu for a long time with 93 octane fuel zero problems, ran like champ.

I am now using a powerfc as well, its been untuned except for boost duty cycle adjustments and preliminary idle setup. I ran it on my previous ej20k setup and am still running it with my modded ej20k heads/ ej257 bottom end setup and it runs smooth but I need to tune it to get the most out of the build. It can build boost quickly and go into boost cut if the outside temps change a lot.

If you are talking about the ones from the manifold to the head, they are the same as usdm ej25dohc na 96-98. PN 14035AA281
The four mounting bolts are all inline. If you are referring to the one that connects the throttle body to the manifold...my bad.
