Default VHT Nightshades on Headlights? (BLINKERS)

For my bugeye, I was thinking of painting some "eyelids" with vht nightshades on the blinkers, until I can get some upgraded headlights.. Anyone done this?

Never seen it done with the nightshades. I've seen people use plasti-dip trying to paint match to the color of the car. Also, I've see people use vinyl and paint it.

Just buy vinyl that is already colored. There are some pre cut ones as well too. There is a greater chance of messing up when using niteshades and is harder to take off later if you want

Personally, I think it'll look like crap. If you're going for that look, eyelids can be had for pretty cheap. Vinyl is another option.

You can take apart your headlights and paint them inside for the cost of spray paint.

Ok guys thanks for the input.. Will those eyelids render my blinkers useless if I use vinyl? Sorry for the n00b question..

If you cover the entire bulb it would.

Just get eyelids for cheap off eBay instead of using nighshade or plastidip

Just do this to your stock lights and they look really good. Might even changed your mind on buying aftermarket ones.

Although, I bought spec D tuning projectors and they are very nicer for what I paid for them

Ya that's just the thing. I didn't want to retrofit. And if I did I would do the hid conversion... I think I'll just save up for some new hid headlights. I was just trying to find a way to make them look better in the mean time..

The link I gave isnt a retrofit, its just painting the housing black. It looks really good and will only cost however much a can of high temp black paint is.
