I want the same style with a cherry blossom inside or a piston style with extension would be cool and probably look a bit cleaner.

Thanks for all the likes! I don't have many pictures of the process but here's what I did. I started off buying a used 2011 wrx shift boot locally for cheap. Then I took apart the center console and removed the shifter surround. It is easiest when the car is in neutral.

I cut 4 long thin strips of acrylic sheet for the 4 edges underneath. Then I cut tabs into the leather that could be wedged between the underside of the shifter surround and an acrylic piece. Using Weld-on 16 acrylic cement I glued the acrylic to the plastic. I also used krazy glue for the corners to hold them down better. Here is a final shot of the underside and topside.

To install it, I removed the piece that shows the PRND so there was more room. Just disconnect the wire and pull up on it and it comes off.
I still have some work to do on it but for now it'll do. I want to see some of you other guys try this!

Whelp Mikey couldn't tune my car today because my ECU was locked! What gives? Could it be from me resetting the ECU with my Bluetooth OBDII module?

+1 Awesome write up! I have been thinking of doing this since I got my car but didn't know how to go about doing it. Now that you posted that this might be next weekends project!

Yes... it was well worth it, although they look much better with a mesh grille (a la wrx/sti). I used the subimods kit, it comes with a bracket to get them in just the right position.

What is the fascination with upgraded horns? Are you really using them that much that it makes a difference or are you just trying to look/sound cool by having them?

You are pretty much stuck with H11's or do the H9 hack.

Otherwise if you are that concerned about headlight output a proper headlight conversion is in your future.

Maybe in the summer when it's not single-digits outside... And since one is already out, will just do a quick bulb replacement this time around.

The stock horn is pathetic. Hellas are well worth it, people actually listen when you honk. I have to use it frequently thanks to the high amount of idiots in my area.
