Dijm8, looks fantastic! Love what you've done with the exhaust recently, too!

Question for those of you with OEM heated seats.

Do you seem to have these two little "buttons" (how they're shaped and feel) under the rear portion of the lower cushion on the area to the back of your butt? Drivers side only. Doesn't seem to be as noticible on the passenger side. Just curious as to what was going on here. I'm 165lbs, so it's not because I'm fat and squishing the hell out of the seat. haha

AWB, those are thermal cutoff switches. When the seat gets too hot, the HI mode will be disabled, but the LO mode is unaffected.

HI = 55w
LO = 13w

I had to pull the seat out from my car to resolder one of them after I lost HI mode.

I'm investigating what's required to swap from CVT to the 5M. Any help you can provide is appreciated!

Not that I've noticed. They work and feel great and I'm 6'1 200 lbs so weight shouldn't be an issue.

How exactly do I get the fog lights to come on with the parking lights (or as DRLs ideally)?

Someone outlined it in this thread but I can't seem to locate it!

JDMSTA wired his fogs as DRLs, I think the same way as the older WRX. As for independent fogs, Here's flyboy's write up;
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2578343
Mine is tied to the ignition, so they work anytime the key is in the on position.

Why bother? If you are going to swap to a manual, research the 2014 Forester 6MT, it shares the same bellhousing, and shifts very well for the entry level, much better than the 5MT.
At very least you will have to swap the rear diff to match ratios, and the ECU. Beyond that you will have wiring and sensor differences, displays, interior bits, and now nonfunctional paddles.

Isnt that 6mt cable operated? So the shift linkage is different. I would think the direct feel of the 5mt would feel better. That said-I really would like a 6mt myself. Or hell- an aussie dual-range would be sweet,as well.

That plus information in the thread linked helped me decide it's just not worth it.

Hey TRSA, which retrofit setup do you recommend that you guys carry(you work for TRS right?) I'm looking for the best output for the price with the least amount of cutting (but I don't mind doing it if I have to to get the best result)

Yessir I run the Sales/Marketing side of things. The new Mini D2S is the best projector we've ever made. Check it out!

Yes, but you should do that anyways if you're considering a retrofit. That's our forum and the largest related to HIDs/retrofitting.

So what are the square ones about if they have the same output?

Just based on what look of projectors one prefers?

Sooo..

currently coming up on about 7k miles on my Amsoil XL oil, still pretty much full, and I have added about 6oz to keep it at the full dot. question is do I push it to 9k, or change it out...I'm debating changing it because I do have a 2k mile trip planned in 1 week, and would rather be safer than sorry, plus with all the stupidly cold weather for the last 2 months it is probably definitely in the severe service category.

decisions.

Have fun with that. I wanted to do the same with my dad's outback a few years back. The dearlership mechanics basically told me to f off (for good reason). You're looking at a new center diff, probably crankshaft, ECU, not to mention the transmission itself, as well as probably several other components associating it to the engine. You would probably have an easier time trading into whatever you want than swapping parts out to make it.
