Default Just found this Video on how to change sound settings on stock headunit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnYFs6OpGGs

Not sure if this is common knowledge but it was news to me! I figured its probably in my owner manual but i actually dont remember reading about it when i first went through it.

Another way to improve the sound of the factory deck:

1. Power off the radio
2. Throw it in the trash
3. Replace it with literally ANYTHING ELSE.

I drove around for almost a year with the stock deck thinking it was "OK" and "not that bad". Then I replaced it... and boy was I wrong.

Get a cheap amp if you really really want your stock headunit. it's just underpowered.

I thought this as well. I put in an aftermarket amp to run my stock speakers and a sub, thinking the head unit wasn't at fault. I ran this way for 8 months or so. Then I upgraded my deck and the system came alive.

I don't know whats going on inside the stock deck as far as crossovers or frequency filters, but it certainly is doing something with the audio signal. It's pretty bad.

I set mine to 'Through Mode' and noticed a marginally better sound. Need to upgrade the HU immediately!

nope,...they all sound like crap japanese stock head units. They have way too much sounds shaping and processing to protect the speakers

you can install an amp, but the higher the volume, the more the HU processor retards the bass and highs

you're only somewhat option is a Clean Sweep,...but it's marginal mediocrity at best
