Default Clicking from front at slow speed. Any ideas?

I have a 2013 Sti. Just hit 10000 mi.

A couple weeks ago I noticed a clicking sound coming from my front drivers side. It sounds like dropping a metal ball bearing on sheet metal lined with dynamat. Only hear sound when going less than 10 mph. Slower I go the louder it gets. Intermittent clicking noise. Not consistent with wheel rotation. But at slow roll will hear click.... Click click....click...click click click...... Click. Etc. Smooth road will still hear it. Don't really feel the click through the car suspension or steering wheel. Maybe a very very little. Checked all strut and suspension bolts. All tight. Checked brakes. No probs there. No change in sound with wheels pointing straight or turning. Sound is identical.

Only thing I can figure it could be is the wheel bearing. Just 10k is quick for one to go bad. Beat the piss out of my old stage 2+ bugeye and never had any problems with bearings.

I'm going to take it in Friday to dealer for warranty work. Just wondering if it could be something else. I'm lowered on springs and have Cobb stage 1 with air intake. Just wondering if ill have to put stuff to stock or if ill be ok.

Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.

Warranty decisions are up to the dealer with final decision by SOA. Any advice from nasioc on mods/warranty is speculation.

Clicking may be a CV going bad. Or as simple as some trash wrapped around an axle, or a bad boot. Your dealer should inspect and advise.

Not really looking for advice on mods vs warranty. I just wanted to hear some advice from
Someone with a similar sound. I had her jacked up yesterday and inspected every part and bolt looking for anything loose, damaged. Etc. Everything seems normal. With 10k miles nothing appears to have too much wear either. I really don't think it's a cv as over 10 mi per hr it's quiet and there is absolutely no change in quality or frequency of noise going straight or turning at full lock. It seems that the wheel bearing may be the cause. But all the bearings I have had go bad in the past always had an intermittent squeaking that was constant with wheel rotation position. I looked at the ball joints and bushings. All look great and have no play. Plus I've had those problems on other cars and it always was noticeable over rough road as those parts would bounce or move. This is a clank or click on completely smooth ground at very slow speed. I don't see how any suspension parts or linkages would even be moving enough to make noise. I also rolled down a slight grade with car off and in neutral. Still had the noise.

Hoping someone else just has had similar sound

With subaru's I tend to see if someone has a random sound or something wrong. There are usually lots of others with the same problem. Like the left side front bolt on the drivers seat mount coming loose on all 03's causing everyone's drivers seat to squeak.

You did ask in your original post if you would be ok or have to return to stock.

So you did ask for advice on mods and warrenty as well.....

Did you curb it hard? Not sure how similar these clicks are but mine resulted in a bad ball joint.

You have a warranty, use it.

Ya. I was not asking on advice for mods. Just advice on noise. I'm dropping off car at dealer tomorrow morning so I don't have time to put anything back to stock anyway.

I did hit a hole on the freeway recently but my car was making the same sound before that. Only much less frequently.

Over past two days I have noticed that when the car is cold I really don't hear the noise too much. Like after sitting at work for 14 hours. As I leave to head home it hardly makes the noise at all. But after a 10 mile freeway drive as I'm pulling to
A stop at the off ramp of the freeway it will start knocking or clicking quite badly. Like in one car length it will do it like 10 times. I almost think I hear something as I am driving too. Like a faint grinding. But with exhaust and tranny noise from shifter bushings it's hard to hear anything. Lol!

Oh well I guess it's up to the service guy at Subaru to figure this one out.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

I had a noise very similar to the one you're describing. Was in fact the front pass side CV joint going bad.
