Being I was limited on time I shot both weapons yesterday.

Here I put some rounds through my Glock 30sf. This is the second time I have sot the weapon since buying it. There is much improvement needed. Target size is about 8.5"x 8.5" and set out 20 feet.

These targets were multiple target drills firing my Glock 19. Each target is 6.5" x 6.5". Shooter has 5 seconds to fire 5 rounds. 2 rounds into target one, then 2 rounds onto target 2 and then follow up with 1 round back onto target one. Targets set out at 15 feet.

Oh jeez, this is mostly geared towards Orbital but can be a PSA for others as well.

MSP has released their opinion on SBRs and SBS, and it is not good. What a mess.

Simplest way to explain is that all sbr and sbs are considered handguns and must be submitted to the handgun roster board.

There's a mighty long thread about it on mds.

Sort of:
Quote:
a shortbarreled rifle or short-barreled shotgun must be approved by the Handgun Roster Board before it may be manufactured for distribution or sale, or sold or offered for sale in Maryland.
To me this greatly affects FFLs dealing with Form 4s of SBR/SBS. Or any person that wants to sell a used one to another MD resident. Not sure if applicable to Form 1s using pre-oct builds. Considering a pre-oct lower is considered a grandfathered banned ALG.

also:
Quote:
V. Transfer
Public Safety Article (“PS”) 5-101(r) defines “regulated firearm” to include a “handgun” which is defined in 5-101(n)(1) to mean “a firearm with a barrel less than 16 inches in length.” Therefore, if a short-barreled rifle or short-barreled shotgun has a barrel length of less than 16 inches, the firearm is a “handgun” and subject to the application, background check and other requirements relating to the transfer of “regulated firearms” under Public Safety Article Title 5, Subtitle 1 .
So handgun laws and rifle laws apply to SBR/SBS

This is where I get confused though:
From the Advisory
Quote:
III. Possession of “Copycat” weapon
A short-barreled rifle or short-barreled shotgun that meets the definition of "copycat weapon" set forth in CR 4-301(e) (for example, "a semi-automatic centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 29 inches" or "a semi-automatic shotgun that has a folding stock") is an "assault weapon" and subject to the restrictions on transportation, possession, sale and receipt set forth in Title 4, Subtitle 3, of the Criminal Law Article.
From SB281
Quote:
CR 4-301(e)
(e) (1) “Copycat weapon” means:
(i) a semiautomatic centerfire rifle that can accept a detachable magazine and has any two of the following:
1. a folding stock;
2. a grenade launcher or flare launcher; or
3. a flash suppressor;
(ii) a semiautomatic centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds;
(iii) a semiautomatic centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 29 inches;
(iv) a semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds;
(v) a semiautomatic shotgun that has a folding stock; or
(vi) a shotgun with a revolving cylinder.
(2) “Copycat weapon” does not include an assault long gun or an assault pistol.

Head on over to MDS, theres actually 2 threads now. One continuing about the status of SBR, in the NFA section. and another in the Maryland 2A subsection. MSP has added more confusion than clarity in regards to this topic

the thing that i dislike about mds is the number of barracks lawyers. Everyone knows it all and many know nothing. The legal reverb from them almost got me in trouble about c&r purchases. Regardless of what the law says the only thing that really matters to the gun owner is what the state perceives as the meaning of the law and what Doug Gansler will prosecute you for.

Oh, I hadn't seen that before I submitted. From what I'm reading there's *not* an issue if it's a Form 1? Regardless, even if they want the SBR on the roster...mine already is because the Engage E4 should be on the roster. My SBR also passes the copycat test and is a pre October lower...

I was debating getting a new pistol or ten so the HQL thing while annoying is something I'll do soon.

Oh, lol. I thought you meant the list of what you already own. If it's a wish list then carry on. I have three handguns coming this week

Two weeks since the last post? C'mon guys...

eForms are back up and accessible - only Form 6 submissions are going through; however, I can now view my Form 1 submission from several weeks ago.

I also did that HQL stuff. Submitted Friday night - just checked and it's Active already. Just waiting on the card and a paycheck...

Yea the eForm website is definitely loading a lot faster and less errors. Checked and saw my form 1 is there as well.

They are still doing batch mailouts so probably be around 2 weeks to get the card. Back when I did mine it took roughly a week from application to actual receipt of card.

I started the app first. That way when I got my finger prints done I just had to enter the numbers. Submit and pay.

Took my guns to On Target with my Dad last weekend for some father/son shooting. He definitely enjoyed shooting my 7.5" SBR with a 22lr conversion kit in it. Especially with that Geissele SSA-E trigger in it. He somehow managed to jam my sub2k twice hahaha. Besides that it ran flawlessly and decently accurate out of the box.

I'm not sure if this is cool or not, if so I apologize greatly. Anyway if anyone is interested in a sp 2022 40 I'm thinking about selling mine. Never been fired. It looks like I'll be going the way of a glock 26 for a ccw. Anyway feel free to pm me! And this will obviously have to go through a FFL.

Picked up a case of 9mm.

Picked up a small safe to store my handguns in for when not in use

Took the wife shooting again today and she did pretty good with the G19. Not bad considering 3 months ago she had the fear of GOD in here touching a gun.

Afterwards I put about 25 rounds or so through my G30SF with my TLR-3 as a Glock certified armorer on another site told me that the light could cause firing issues. Not sure on that nor did the folks at my LGS/Range buy into that. Guess I will put another 50-100 or so next week.
