Hey guys. I drive and 09 SWP STi. Living in Charlotte.

Does anyone know of a good machine shop around? I've got LCA bushings to install and need those bad boys to be pushed out with a press.

42 is good (they built my block), but they're hella far and closed on weekends. Anyone know of anyone a bit more accessible?

i personally only go to 3sx/performance factory, best customer service and great guys they are the only people to touch my subie. Since you're looking for closer by though, head over to Motion Lab. Alex is extremely helpful with any questions/quotes you need.

The only problem is getting a hold of motion lab. Every time I call over there I get immediately put on hold. I've called twice in the past two days and no one even answers. I just go straight to hold music. Makes it pretty hard to go to them when they won't even talk to me. How hard is it to answer the phone? Do they not like money or are they just lazy?

Well the dude who answers the phone isn't usually to helpful nor does he sound like he likes being there. Send a PM through NASIOC or an email through their website and you'll usually have an answer from Alex in under an hour.

but they are the only ones close around. I go to The Performance Factory in concord because i want someone who will take care of my car and ill go out of my way for it. Any reason you're looking for some place so close? always go out of your way for your subie.

What Gregor said. I live right next to Gaston county, far west Charlotte and I still make the drive up to 42 to get the work done.

I know I have to flex my schedule around a bit since they are not open weekend but I do this because I know what quality work is.

The reason why I'm looking for something close is because I've only got one car and it's kind of hard to drive it when the LCA isn't attached

Hey guys - I hope you can help me out. My son has or had an '02 WRX Stage 2 but it threw a rod and he cant afford to fix it so I just bought it. I can only work on my Z06 so I was hoping you could recommend someone to build and install the new motor. Would like to upgrade power while it was out. Recommendations on motor and shop?

BTW - I have swapped motors in my Z06 in my garage before. Is a WRX motor sway a diy project? Not really sure I want to tackle that but maybe.

Thanks in advance for the info.

I recommend The Performance Factory, a lot of people like 42 Autosports also as mentioned above.

3SX is literally a minute drive from my house but I still take my car to MLT.
Hands down the best shop in the area. Alex has an answer to literally any question I throw at him.

Oh yeah, and they helped my WRX get to 300whp.

In all seriousness they are all good shops with all different costumers here. See which one gives you the best for your budget and fits your schedule right.

Just got off the phone with Chris at 42 Autosports. Taking car there next week and letting them do their magic. Just have to decide how much motor I really need. As I have found with my Z06, 6xxhp can still leave you wanting for more.

Thanks for the recommendations.
