This will be my first time doing autox so you are not alone my friend. I figured I'm going to just go have fun. My vf43 puts me in the prepped category so I will not be competitive.

Not to scare you guys, but usually the hardest thing for first timers is just following where the course goes. They will probably make it pretty clear and easy for an event like this, so it shouldn't be hard at all. Just go out, and have fun.

The other bit of advice that Ive learned from experienced drivers, learn the course first then worry about picking up your speed. Sometimes you have to slow down to go faster. Ive used that ideology and it works. . Most of all have fun.

I'm going to try and get to this. Little bit of a drive but gonna be worth it.

Are tickets for children the same price? Well young children to be exact.

Do it! We cant think of a better place than Boxerfest to do your first Autocross. You'll be among friends, will make new friends, will be around many people driving similar cars. Many of our competitors are first timers and end up being hooked.

I'm hoping the gift bags are not sold out already because I just placed my ticket order but if they are oh well. Are they reserved per person or are they first come first served at the door?

For all you first time autocross people, there is an event this weekend (March 29th and 30th) in Columbia, MD.

Here is the link to it: http://www.corvetteclubofamerica.org/

They offer a fantastic Saturday session (March 29th) which gives you 8 (untimed) runs and instruction on how to follow the course.

The actual event is on the 30th which includes timed runs and some prizes.

It's a great deal for $30 (or $40 for both Saturday and Sunday) and it's not very competetive so it's a great way to get your feet wet.

Feel free to PM me if you need more info

I am debating signing up for the autocross in my Legacy 3.0R. Its basically stock and would be my first real autocross. I have done a couple Mazda Zoom Zoom live events.

What's the parking going to be like if your not in the car show? Also I assume if I just have a tbe, intake and stage 2 cobb tune i'd be in the turbo street class? Doesn't really matter as i'm not being competitive just curious.

I will keep an eye on the website, but what are the plans to make this fun for "the whole fam damily"?

Knowing my 6 year old can only take looking at cars for so long, just curious what you guys are thinking about having that will keep his interest.

They will most likely have loaner helmets on hand.

If you want your own, just go to your local motorcycle dealer/shop and buy a motorcycle helmet. You need to be sure that on the inside of the helmet (typically you'll have to pull the lining out of the way to see) it has a Snell rating sticker. My first helmet was just the least expensive open-face Snell rated motorcycle helmet that I could find at the local Harley place - worked great for a number of years. Disregard, for this event you need a Snell SA-rated helmet, so the M-rated motorcycle helmet won't be enough.
