I respect what is being said regarding the costs, but please understand that this thread is here to promote The OC AWD Meet.

We strive to make the meet affordable for everyone, but I will agree that the entire weekend can become pricey.

If your finances are okay with it, stay Friday through Sunday and come to all of our events and activities. I promise you will not regret it!

Honestly I'm confused why people think that staying 3-4 Days on a weekend during beach season would be cheap....

You are going to a widely visited beach during the beginning of vacation season, everything will be expensive.

Honestly you should be comfortable spending $300 on average for a room from Friday to Sunday. Then another $200 on food and drinks unless you plan on getting groceries and eating in your hotel room.

Also, most clubs and bars require a cover after a certain time of night so be aware that if you are planning to go out, there will most likely be a cover fee. The Drunk Bus is amazing for transportation, so park your cars at the hotel, hop on the drunk bus get your all night pass for a few bucks and go to town.

The guys make the Car Meet itself extremely affordable but they have no control over normal summer time vacation costs.

What is the targeted month for next year? May? July? August?

We think the end of June would be a perfect time. Senior week is over and the weather is much more reliable.

Please do not quote me on this though because there is still a tremendous amount of work that needs to be done for a change like this.

So there isn't any confusion, this year's meet will still be held June 6th-8th!

Mator,

When do you plan to update Page 1 of this thread ? to include showing both dates for the Main Meet and the Meet Meat Meet two weeks later ? Same with links to the registration on OC Car Shows Page ? Explaining whats going on with that, the website has a really basic, hidden off to the side ' Part 2 ' link that I bet people don't even know its there. It should be linked from the bottom of the Event Schedule Page so people know, like ' WHATS THIS ?!? PART 2 ?!? ' Not everyone say the great debate on facebook, so some may be unsure even what I am talking about with the Meet Meat meet ( though it was questioned on 03-13-2014 at 06:48 PM and I didn't see a response ).

PS Not trying to be a jerk, but you know some people aint clicking links, dont have a DramaBook ( i mean FaceBook ), some people live and breath NASIOC all day long ( have you looked at how quickly off topic moves, yikes ). I mean COME ON MAN !!!! ITS 79 DAYS AWAY !!!

PPS Some people are trying to plan vacations and get condos ( as discussed in previous posts )

I'm not Mator but I may be able to help. The first page will be updated very soon and will show the info you're talking about. The website will also be updated to give a more detailed description of Part 2. However, we are keeping the two separated because we do not want any confusion between them.

The OC AWD Meet Part 2 is still on and will be taking place on June 21st. The reason we are not promoting it as much yet is because our primary focus is on The Main Meet, June 7th.

I also want to stress the fact that Part 2 is a bonus meet which will hopefully bring our spectators back to Ocean City for The OC Car Show.

The dates for both meets were locked down months ago, so you should be all set to plan your trip and book a hotel or condo.

and thats the point of my post, if you are hyping the primary meet with Cruises / Pre Meet Breakfasts / Post Meet After Party / Post After Party Hungover Meet, why would anyone considering planning a trip to the ' Bonus ' meet if all they know is ' Click Link to Register on OCCarShow.com .' Having attended OC Car Show since umm I believe since they started, there are people who enjoy it and people who are sour about it ' , so some AWD Spectators who may want to enjoy this ' Bonus ' event because they are going to the drift event/WBM/etc thats going on during the primary meet AND they are sour about the 20$ admission price for OC Car Show ( or sour just in general for OC Car Show ) what else do they even have right now to grab their attention and be like ' oh maybe i should consider renting a hotel now before its 400$ a night and its all booked up ' .

I mean, you should be able to notice the difference already between the 2013 Thread and this thread. By this date last year, it was over 300 posts, and people were already registering for the event.

I think you can see that you answered your own question while writing your reply. We are focusing on our Main Meet more because we do not want our spectators missing The OC AWD Meet to go to Part 2 instead.

We agree that Part 2 needs to be advertised more and we are working on that now. If you come to Part 2, we will have an AWD Meet outside of the Convention Center that will take place along side of The OC Car Show. We are also planning on having a few vendors and some small meets.

As far as your comment about activity goes, we can see a difference as well and we are fine with it. As we get bigger, there are less questions because everyone has already been to the meet and they go to our website for specifics. The thread views are what we care about and they are high!

We haven't opened up registration yet for specific reasons. I assure you that we are doing a lot more work on the meet than you think we are.

Wicked Big Meet is a great event. Now that Boxerfest is happening in the Mid Atlantic on May 3 and it's a clone of WBM, obviously we would recommend that you come to The OC AWD Meet so you can experience both. The OC AWD Meet is also a weekend event with car events taking place June 6th to the 8th!

Thank you all for the response. Yeah, I was down last year for an event - not sure if it was the AWD or something else but there were so many subarus!!! My parents have a place in OC so I'll be cruising down there and I'll probably go to Boxerfest - WBM is a bit far for me but maybe one day I'll attend.

I would like to apologize, I was out of the country for a few weeks and now im trying to get caught back up on everything. We will have everything updated next week on OC AWD Meet Part 2. I appreciate your concerns, but we are right where we need to be with everything. We also have another announcement that we locked down that I think you guys will very much like! Stay Tuned!!

-You have the dates book your hotels

It is the end of March and we are still getting snow. We don't know about the rest of you but we're ready for summer and the beach.

We hope everyone is excited because this is the year you won't want to miss.

Car Registration for The OC AWD Meet is scheduled to open May 1st!

Don't be the guys I saw down there last weekend. Bunch of S2000 being douches. Even though the city is empty, Id rather not have my car associated with asshats.

The "summer shutdown" is H2Oi. No need for another meet.

That's the ultimate car weekend. Nothing else compares.
