Default looking for 16" size options.

I am kicking around the idea of running 16" stock wheels with a dedicated summer tire. Now do I stay 205/215 on 55/50 or go wider in a 225/50-55. I seen thus years back in a wagon and had a beefy look, its just a occasional DD. Maybe tirerack can chime in with any deals.....

If you're running the stock 16 x 6.5" wheel, then you're probably better off sticking with the 205/55/16 tire size.

If you're running a wider 16" wheel (like the old RS wheels that are 16 x 7.0") then 225/50/16 is fine to run.

If you're lowered (a fairly drastic amount as a mild drop shouldn't really encounter an issue) you may end up rubbing as the 215/55/16 is a slightly taller tire.

The taller tire may give a slightly more comfortable ride, but the trade off is that you would introduce a bit more sidewall flex into the setup.

Can you run it? Sure, but do note that your speedometer will be slightly off based on the different tire sizing.

I have 225/50r16's on my stock 16's. The feeling is kind of mushy and there is a decent amount of sidewall bulge.

i was gonna do 16's but the tire size and wheel size choices suck compared to 17's

you can get a set of 17x8's and use a whole buncha different size tires on them, depending on the particular tire and how it is 'sized'.....you could put 215, 225,235 or 245's(and maybe even a 205) on in 40 or 45 or maybe even 50 series
