Ya false, stop spreading rumors over the internet. My dealership told me if I ever modded my car, and there was a problem to revert back to stock and bring it in.

Screw now and drink some more haterade

For the record there was no bragging, there was a private message to a few select individuals who tried to ruin my warranty claim by being crybabies and calling SOA.

You committed warranty fraud. SOAs words not mine.

You bragged about it later.

SOA recieved screenshots of you bragging about frauding them, good luck getting anything else covered.

Wrong.

This is warranty fraud. It's illegal.

Doing so is a disservice to every single Subaru owner.

**** off.

Modifications: none.

Reason Given For Denial: N/A

Your Story: Blown turbo at 3,300 miles. No denial, dealer replaced under warranty. Just wanted to share problem, and let the community know that not all dealers are bad

TIME OUT OF SERVICE: 2.5 days(so far)

PROBLEM: Clutch pedal sticks to the floor and must be manually brought back up. Unable to move shifter into any gear. Loud squeeling upon depressing clutch pedal. Tech states that they believe it is throwout bearing but may need to replace clutch and/or flywheel as well.

MODIFICATIONS: None

SUBMITTED FOR WARRANTY WORK?: Yes

REASON FOR DENIAL: Not under warranty

YOUR STORY: When my wife and I purchased the car new from Cherry Hill Subaru we also purchased the Subaru Gold package, extending the manufacturer's warranty to 7yrs/100k miles. They represented to us that it was a Subaru Gold warranty, and on none of the paperwork that they gave us was it menioned otherwise. We were told we would just have to pay $100 deductible if ever the car is serviced under warranty, $200 if serviced at any other dealership. Had to take car to John Kennedy Subaru because it was the closest dealer at the time of the clutch malfunction happening. Kennedy informs us that the warranty sold to us was not a Subaru warranty, and states that the repair cannot be covered. I contacted SOA who contacted both dealerships and then called me back. SOA rep states that Cherry Hill Subaru service rep that he spoke to is saying that they will not cover the repair under the warranty that THEY sold us. The service rep at JK Subaru stated that if it was a Subaru Gold warranty, they could cover the repair(everything but clutch). I understand JK Subaru's position and that is fine. My issue I guess is that Cherry Hill misrepresented the warranty that they sold us, and is in my view, fraud. Even the finance person at JK could not understand why they would sell us a third party warranty with a new car. Now i am going to have to tow my car to Cherry Hill Subaru and SOA is revisiting the issue this coming Monday.end rant.

So what you're saying is you never looked at the paper work you signed when you bought the car?

No, what I am saying is that they misrepresented what they sold me. Only thing that was on anything that I signed was what I paid for said warranty.

Still seems silly on your part. Did it just say "warranty $1500 (or whatever it was)" and you received no paper work on it? That still falls on you. Very shady on them but still you gotta look stuff over.

No, I have another paper that has what the warranty is and it does say that it covers the Manufacturer's original warranty to 7yr/100k. This includes powertrain warranty. It says that. I understand that I should have made absolute certain that it was, in fact, the SUBARU GOLD warranty. They were selling it to us like it was and even said the name. I know ultimatley I am responsible, but i think that it is bad business practice and deceptive. SOA and JK Subaru agree. I feel that they should honor the warranty that they sold us.

Cherry hill sure, Subaru no. Cherry hill defrauded you not Subaru, and that's if they even did and you didn't just not understand the warranty presented to you.

Yes, I know the issue is with Cherry Hill. I said that originally. Yes, I did understand everything they told me and showed me while selling me the warranty.

Your red flag was the fact that they told you your deductible doubled to $200 if work was done at another dealer. SOA's warranty deductibles do NOT change as it is accepted at all Subaru dealers.

2015 STi Launch

Default Brand new 2015 STi engine failure

NAME: Michael Patterson

MAKE: 2015 STi Launch Edition

MILAGE: 4,370

TIME OUT OF SERVICE: 2 days for boost controller failure. Just dropped off for engine failure last night

PROBLEM: Engine self-destructed. Incredibly bad knocking.

MODIFICATIONS: None

SUBMITTED FOR WARRANTY WORK?: Yes

REASON FOR DENIAL: N/A

YOUR STORY:

Randomly (as far as I can tell), the turbo decided to stop building pressure at 8psi. I took the car into the dealer and told them. After having the car for 2 days and supposedly calling SOA tech guys when their own Master Tech's couldn't solve the problem, they simply reset the ECU and I was on my way. The turbo was back to spooling to full boost pressure.

On my way into the mountains (I live in Denver) yesterday I noticed a slight knock. I turned around immediately and decided to head back to town and get the car to the dealership. About 2 miles after limping back to town at 50mph in the slow lane turning about 2000rpm the engine started making violent sounds. Rattles/knocks/Lord of the Rings-esque battles cries/etc like I have never heard before. I pulled over immediately to a sudden loss of power. Stopped on the side of the road I called the dealership who gave me a number of a wrecker. 5 hours later I got the car dropped off and the key into the night drop-off box.

I am going in to the shop first thing tomorrow morning to discuss.

What are my options? What negotiating power do I have? A replaced short block is beyond ridiculous. A replaced long block would still have issues as other parts of the system (i.e.: oil cooler) would be completely infected with metal shards that would be nearly impossible to flush.

Besides that, a brand new car requiring a rebuilt engine is absolutely ridiculous. I have already met someone else in the area with a 2015 who's car is in the shop having the engine pulled for the same issue. I do not believe a rebuilt engine is the appropriate fix for this as I can very well see this problem arising down the road (literally).

Thank you,
Mike

they consider it an acceptable amount of failures. do we know what percentage of 2.5s fail? i searched and read for 35 min. couldn't find the number. i did see they issued a press release saying it was less than 1% when factoring in the ones that failed from abuse. don't kill the messenger.

Exclamation

Name: Rohit Patil

Make: 2015 WRX Limited

Mileage: 1600

Time Out Of Use: I have used this car for 11 days before I noticed the problem!

Problem And Likely Cause: Clutch started slipping on the 10th day. Got even worse on the 11th day.

Modifications: No Modifications. Brand New Stock Car.

Submitted For Warranty Work (Yes/No): Contacted the dealer and hoping that it will be repaired completely in warranty with anything out of my pocket.

Reason Given For Denial: I hope they don't deny the repairs under warranty

Your Story:

1. I bought my car on 08/08/2014 from Georgia, Atlanta from Stivers Subaru. The dealer was really nice to me and has promised to look into the problem.

2. Initially when I started driving the car I could notice this light smell of something burning but i ignored thinking that its was somekinda coating on the car since it is new. This smell has continued all the way till present day.

3. Secondly, after 10 days of driving, while on my way back home from work, while I was driving on a freeway and when I treid to pass a vehicle by acclerating, the engine rpm suddenly went up from about 2500 to 4000/5000+ rpm and then came down to around 4000 only after which the car started acclerating. after this happened I could again notice the same burning smell that I noticed earlier, only this time it was way more intense.

4. I have contacted the dealer and booked an appointment to get the car checked but I fear the car won't be able to keep on going till the day of appointment since the problem got even worse today and the clutch is slipping in every gear.

5. I am really concerned and would like to know what could be the main reason for this problem and how do I make sure that My car get fixed under warranty and works like a brand new car without me having to pay anything??

6. I am an experienced driver and have been driving stick shifts since the first time I learnt how to drive a car, so I am pretty sure that its nothing to do with my driving habits.

Any response and help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE:

7. I had connected my friend's ODBII device to my car and saw that its showed misfires while the engine was idling. And this was when the car had hardly done 800 miles.

8. Apart from this there is a very irritating noise from the engine while idling which goes away after sometime. I am not sure if it is from some electrical device or what?

wow. misfires and a smoked clutch. sounds like the clutch fork broke, causing the disc to stay engaged. they better cover it. even that wear item is covered for 12 months. read your warranty book. its in there
