I drive my 05 sti daily making 430whp 370wtq. I drive 36 miles each way to work at kinetic Motorworks. I've had it since it was 10 months old, currently has 105k. Puts a smile on my face every day, especially when I hit 25psi on my dom 5. Was running sz55 at 350whp from 45 to 90k. Put cp drop ins at 54k and even reused my stock head bolts. At 90k I installed the dom 5 and 1200cc injectors and we tuned for 25psi on pump and been running that for the last 15k. Plan to add aquarist hfs3 within the next month. Still running strong. All work done by myself except for tune which my boss did.

My DD is an 07 FXT 5spd has 228k on it and counting. I drive about 30k a year. I changed the seats recently the stock driver seat became so worn that the metal was showing had to change the seats. I have seat from a WRX TR much more comfy.
I average about 23 mpg combine hwy and city.

Not stock at all VF48, STI TMIC, TBE, Dyno tuned.

2013 WRX for my DD, got it last Nov. with 3200 miles on the clock. I couldn't pass it up! I drive 110 a day so you know I'm doing at least 500 miles a week for work. I wish the seats were a little firmer for the ride, mainly highway miles. When at the dealership for service last week, I sat in a premium BRZ, those seats are firmer than the WRX. How are the seats in the STi' s? My avg mpg's are 23.5 est. even in the colder temps. I seen it spike up to 29 one day (warmer temp of course), drafting off of a trailer and slower traffic in some areas on the way to work.

2011 WRX for my DD. Bought it with 6k miles on it 2 years ago. It was at stage two already with a turbo back exhaust, now it's at 51k miles. Winter driving I get about 22mpg, I drive 70 miles a day for work. Summer time I've gotten close to 30mpg, that was on a trip to Rochester, a 3 hour trip for me and I took all back roads. But normally in the summer 27-28 is probably the highest I get, average about 25. It's comfortable enough for me, exhaust is a little loud but I listen to my music loud anyways so it doesn't bother me.

As of last week my new 2014 Impreza sedan will be my daily driver (mostly). I like driving a second car to keep the miles down, which will now be the 2005 OBS (which my wife will run around in most of the time since we traded her Corolla for the 2014.

Also, right now I have a 3rd Subie to commute in (our '98 Legacy wagon), but that will be going to my son by the end of the summer after he gets his license.

We didn't own a single Subaru just one year ago, but now have 3. I think that will do us for awhile.

My 2010 WRX has been my only car since I bought it brand new; 71k miles and 5 years of autocross later and it still puts a smile on my face while it does everything I could ever ask of it and then some.

He most certainly is. I told one of my coworkers that my WRX was going to be my daily and he thought I was crazy.

Whatever, I've wanted it since the 2008 STi. Ok, maybe since February in particular, when I saw the PBP color.

I do about 35 miles a day to work or any additional classes I take. It's painful because people don't know how to go, and the lights and traffic is poorly planned. People like to stop suddenly and then turn, sans signal. The speed limit is for liberals, no one dares to go anywhere near it. Ah well, it's practice for if I drive up to NJ.

My 2005 wrx was an all around daily. Drove it everywhere. Sold that and bought a 2006 wrx with 72k on the clock and is now a driveway queen at 87k. 1995 accord ex is now my daily and she's got 66k it was a good find.

I drive in DC traffic in my WRX, about 50 miles each way, slammed on coilovers. Meh.

My DD is a '14 Sport Limited Impreza. ~15k miles now and had it since the end of November. My work commute is exactly a marathon one way -- 26.2 miles.

Comfort is fine. It's a miles eater, and ideally I will have it to 200k miles.

My 2015 WRX (CVT) is my daily driver,
and with everyday grid lock stop n go traffic
I am glad I had the option for an automatic(CVT).

My 2014 Wrx is my DD. I drive 100 miles, round trip, for work and traffic in the morning is a pain in the culo, but I never complain that I have to shift my own gears. The Wrx is not a comfortable vehicle, I average 24.6mpg and I try to get at least 4 round trips before I fill up. Next car I am getting is Tesla.

I commute to work by bicycle so I only really drive my subie on weekends or days I don't feel like riding.

I do notice how uncomfortable the seats are by the end of the weekend. I've had my '13 for around a year and a half, around 15k miles on it.

DD my 'rex. 22 around town in cold weather. I'lll bump 24 hwy around 75 in the same cold weather.

Premium package comes with:
Wiper defrosters
Heated mirrors
Heated seats
Sunroof/moonroof
Fog Lights
Spoiler

What is this cold weather package you speak of?
Also, most people get worse mileage in colder weather, because of the air temp/warm-up times/winter blend fuel. Odd your MPG's are better.

I used to have a 200 mile round trip commute (60 round trip now), so I put together a lean burn hypermiler Civic that gets between 45-50 mpg (and isn't a prius). I keep that pile around just because it's sooo damn cheap to run. However I cant help driving my STI more and more often... MPGs on my subaru are 22-24 with occasional pulls and horseplay. I think the stiff suspension makes it feel that much more exciting.

When I lived in suburban MA driving the WRX was fun. Then I moved to San Francisco and it became a huge PITA in the city. The clutch is super heavy (stock clutch), the nearly 300hp it churns out are nearly useless and gas mileage is pretty bad (about 19-20 in the city). My clutch knee started to hurt after a while so I bought a separate city car. The WRX is still a blast on the freeway but if you need a city car - stay away.

Living in the semi-rural and slightly suburb-like area; I drive roughly a 60/40 split of freeway+highway/city driving. The traffic is rarely stop and go since my work shift is from 6AM till 3PM(conveniently missing both rush hours). My commute is about 55 miles round trip. I use my STI as a DD which proves to be a lot of fun except in bumper to bumper traffic which is never fun.

I find myself averaging around 21mpg combined which is 1 mpg better than my previous car, but my previous car could and did run on 87 octane. Needless to say, my gas expenses are pretty much the same as before.

At first I wondered if I made a wise choice getting the STI but then I stopped caring. After the first week of ownership I find myself sighing every time I have to turn my car off, I just wanna keep driving!~

I see a lot of people bashing the sound system of the WRX/STI around this community, but I find it several steps above my last car's system. Combined with the AUX port, its got everything I need to have great time driving!

Summer Beater: 2002 Saturn SL2 150k miles (automatic) - 36mpg
Winter Beater: 2005 Subaru Forester 2.5XS 160k miles (5 Speed) - 25mpg

Before the Forester came along I DD'd my 08 WRX in the winter, but I don't think I'll drive it anymore in the winter as I don't want to get another set of snow tires for it. I drive about 70 miles per day. The Forester is better in the snow than the WRX due to it being a bit higher and I like the absence of electronic nannies. The fact that it really doesn't put down enough power to break traction on the Blizzaks is probably a plus too. I can still get it sideways but you really need to chuck it into a corner to get it to break traction.

I am currently on my 3rd Subaru as a daily. Between 15-20k a year. The STi was a little higher mileage because I drove everywhere. Now my fiancÚ has found a love for driving her legacy so I don't have to drive as much.

03 wrx wagon - 28 highway stock, dropped to 25 after TBE and tune, boost was addicting

12 sti hatch - 26 highway, 20 highway with the blizzaks on

04 wrx sedan - 27 highway stock, have yet to track fuel economy on my recent swap.

Not anymore, traded in my 2013 WRX DD last weekend. Loved it at first, not so much when I traded it in. Only thing about it I will miss are the seats. I drive about 12K miles a year.

My 2011 wrx hatch has been my daily since I bought it at the end of 2010 with only 7 miles. It currently has 68K and flashed to Stage 1 cobb map and keeps me happy on the highway. Pretty soon my stock tires will wear out by next year and I cant wait to go larger and wider!
