Read the FAQS. Hint, Unabombers Manifesto, and every other stickied thread in NEWBIES AND FAQS.

A tune won't do much for a bov or manual controller. I suggest returning the car to stock.

I suppose It'd be the amount of PSI/per click it makes/creates.

I figured that, just wanted to make sure since in a few threads people were saying that the Turbosmart was a good brand for BOV and wasn't a big issue. But I'll definitely be turning the whole car back to car; just to be safe. Thanks for all the help guys.

Im just gonna tell you before you blow something up..get that **** off ur beautiful car. BOV are NOT good for our vehicles, it will make ur car run a bit rich(?) n the boost controller is not the proper way to play with boost...thats what tuning is for. If you dont have a boost gauge id get one, as well as oil pressure, n maybe a third gauge for fuel pressure. Ur pressure system are beyond important on this car. Anyways, using the boost gauge, id try to figure out if that controller is on stock boost (13.5psi) before i drive it too hard.

Best of luck!

It's not going to blow up. Don't let the uncle get you down.

^Lol beautiful car!? It's an 04 wrx. modify it if you will and use it for what it was made for. For fun!

Garage queen babied wrxs are an oxymoron. Drive the s*** out of it as a daily and enjoy tinkering on it and having a relatively cheap fun boosted awd car.

Not a fan of bovs. But the manual boost controller should be fine with a tune and someone who knows what they're doing.

You know that turbosmart makes a recirculated bpv... To the OP, does it have a big tube attached to it? If it does, then it's a BPV and you should be ok. If it just vents to the atmosphere, then it's gonna run rich between shifts. I'd recommend a stock bpv then... And either take the mbc off or get a protune for it (I wouldn't get a protune yet though if you have no mods)

From what i have learned from a bunch of posts and threads is that with the stock turbo, a 50/50 BPV or the stock one is perfectly fine. I would suggest you take it to a shop that works on subarus and ask them the question as well about your whole issue.

Good luck
