Honda is well above average, but Acura is well below? Nissan is above Infiniti?

Happens every time Subaru releases a new model, this year, there were 2 of them, Forester and the XV, CVTs being the biggest issue with the impreza and their burning oil.

And Subaru will keep breaking sales targets and depleting supply faster than they can produce. Seems nobody pays any mind to jd power at the end of the day.

JD Power is the far better resource for this material than CR. Only real surprise is Acura.

Except it's not. JD Power is a for profit business that wants manufacturers to buy their services to increase poor scores. GM spends a lot of money with JD Power. Mercedes does as well. I suspect Subaru does not. The sample size is also relatively tiny in comparison to CR.

i work for acura and the amount of complaints we get for the new mdx is just ridiculous. most notably is the transmission issues that are popping up. I'm sure the new tlx thats coming out in a couple months will be no different

My rankings are based on what I see pulled over on the side of the 101 Freeway and on the backs/beds of tow trucks. Oh oh and co'workers. When their cars give issues, I take notes.

I read another article that blames mechanical problems with the BRZ for the drop in Subaru's ranking. This would be consistent with Scion coming in way much lower than Toyota and Lexus in this survey.

I get it. If Subaru ranked in the leaders in this study you'd praise it. Since that isn't the case you dismiss it.

Might want to think that one through.

A car that represents what, Less than 5% of the brands sales, is going to drag down the other 95% that much?

That's the thing they fail to mention. They account for every "problem" Subaru owner comes in complaining of three rattles, that's three problems. Chevy gets towed in because the ignition switch failed causing an accident, that's one problem. Chevy is magically better

No. I noticed the difference in Subaru's standings and JDP's operations since McGraw Hill took over JD Power over a decade ago. I have very good reasons to question the legitimacy of JD Power that I won't share here.

These are just survey's, the real consumer feedback is coming from us...the subaru owners.

Was it JD or CR that had Subaru being unreliable due to their godawful navigation which people constantly complained about?

Over the last 20+ years of owning/leasing new Japanese-made vehicles, I'd rank Honda and Toyota well above average, Subaru a little below and Mazda is complete shyte. Mazda should change the name of the company to "Albatross." I'd also say that Hondas have gotten steadily worse over the past 5 years or so.

I do see what you are saying. I went here and was hmmm. http://www.jdpower.com/solutions/aut...ail-consulting. That being said, you have to figure on some growing pains too with the increase in sales Subaru has seen. I base my $$ spending on my opinion/experience. Not the 'experts' anyway...

I see we aren't still on the moon, and I have to question the first time were there since the Kennedy assasinations for other reasons, I won't share here.

It is all numbers and how you want to read them is how you want them to read.
