Default CEL for new exhaust. Tune Needed?

Hello all! I have read a few different articles similar to my problem, however none are in the spot I'm in. I just bought an 05 STi. It has a Borla exhaust on it, and I am getting the "Catless" CEL. I had a couple friends tell me that it's probably running rich/lean. So I was thinking that the only way to fix this was a tune. Is this necessary? Also, if it is, would Cobb AccessPort be a good investment? Thank you for all the input!

Get the code read so you know what it is actually for. If it just has a borla catback it shouldnt be throwing a code and if you have a catless downpipe you need a tune quick.

I don't remember exactly, but it was the 0420 I believe. I got the code read early about 10 minutes after the light came on. The reader said something along the lines of catalytic converter problems. haha I know that's not specific but I don't remember the specifics.

Yeah thats the cat code. Again, if you are catless you need a tune asap.

Ok.. I'll check it out. If need a tune, will the Cobb AccessPort be a good starting point? There isn't a company nearby, and I'm limited to my travelling radius.

Yeah. Just make sure to read the map notes and only use the parts listed. The accessport is technically not for catless systems but it is still better than no tune. Just do logs every once in a while to make sure you're not hurtin the motor.
