Just good ol' rattle can Krylon. I took an old cargo net from a car (like you find in the trunk) and wrapped the rifle up before going over it with a couple of coats of color on each side.

My carpet and moulding and wall color are exactly the same. I even have an outlet with a white cover and yellowed plugs, and a host of Magpul boxes laying around.

But sadly, I have never (yet) owned a shotgun, so you win this round. Well played.

Cool, thanks - looks good! I keep having urges to paint one of my ARs, but for whatever reason never follow through..

Nobody seems to like stippling here, but here's my latest gun-related project - I sold an AR and bought a couple of Glock 19 frames to fool around with.

Front strap didn't go as prettily as I hoped, since I started rushing towards the end, but it feels great.

Got rid of the 'bumps' but retained the divots.

Also undercut the trigger guard and added a recession for the mag release because the stock mag release sucks but I don't like how far the aftermarket one I had on my Glock 22 stuck out. This is before 800 grit sandpaper to smooth it out even more, and a couple of minutes of CLP sitting to bring back the black color.

Forgot to grab a picture but I used the localized heating grip reduction method to flatten out the 'hump' without removing much material from the back.

Excuse the messy table (the smudges are pawprints - damn cats), but here she is assembled with a used slide that was refurbished with a NiBX coating:

I'm debating trying a new pattern on the second one or if I should stick with what I know.

I think the first one turned out better, though it was less involved since I didn't have to worry about finger grooves.

Shot these quickly after a range trip today. I wish I could have gotten more light on the front/top of the Glock slides, but one of my 2 flashes seems to have died [] and every attempt at balancing a reflector where it would illuminate those areas resulted in the cats knocking them over.. I need stands or something! Next time.

The lighting I did have was from a flash above and behind the gun(s), with a white diffuser umbrella. I didn't have time to play with different angles of the gun since that key light location looks really great for lighting up the side face of the slide (and the side of the AR), but isn't that great for any other angle of the pistol. Hopefully this weekend I'll have a chance to fish everything out and do some more experimenting.

Wife and I went to the range on Monday to celebrate my birthday, shot this video of the wife shooting my Kimber Eclipse Pro II, she loved the gun, but was getting a it fatigued at this point so shaking a little and the recoil was hitting her a little harder.

Before the video she shot two 5 round groups (10 rounds total on target) at 7 yards with the same .45, not bad for a 125 lbs girl with maybe 300 rounds under her belt!

I'm starting to really love that Kimber!

Good shooting. The kimber is a nice carry for me. I think they make excellent production semi customs for an affordable price. I conceal a super carry pro hd.

Went to a local outdoor range Friday morning. There happened to be a guy there testing out his newly acquired MG42. It had a super fast firing rate
An unexpected treat to see that for sure.

Can anyone in the Houston area chime in on the local gun shows? Any place usually better than another: GRB, Pasadena, Conroe or Woodlands? Premier or High Caliber, one better than the other usually?

Its been many years since I've been to a show in the area, but since I've moved back here I'll be attending again.

darthalal - love the stippling, great job

Got an email from LaRue about my Stealth upper. They wanted to confirm my address/billing info was up to date. And that I still wanted it
I suppose the second question is valid since I ordered it back in December 2012!!
They are going to throw in some free furniture with the order, almost all of which I don't need
Edit: Tracking number yesterday. UPS says that the upper should be here tonight! Goodies shipment may be today or Friday

In Texas, not much. You can write up a receipt and have the guy sign it. Texas doesn't require regular firearms to be registered so... yeah. If you want to play it shady you can meet in a dimly lit parking lot and have him give you a paper bag with the cash

OMGHi2U

Some fresh gun porn from me:
Colt AR6720 I bought before going to Afghanistan (thought they might ban them again before I got back). Upgraded with LaRue rails, pistol grip (free with the Stealth upper), RRA 2 stage trigger, non-rotating pins, extended bolt release, gunfighter charging handle, Magpul stock, LaRue forward grip, Surefire rapid transition iron sights, Bushnell red dot on LaRue riser.

Next up is the LaRue stealth upper. Ordered this Dec 2012, arrived August 2014. Got a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9x40 bdc scope sitting on a LaRue +20MOA qd mount. Also have a Harris bipod for it not mounted currently.

Does the canted rail affect the BDC on that scope?

I honestly haven't gone online to print out the info. I would hope they have a setting that allows for it, if not it's not a huge deal. Got the scope for a great price and I've enjoyed the Buckmaster line on my bolt action Ruger Hawkeye 338federal.
I have some good ammo of varying grain on the way for a fun day out at the range with it once the weather cools down. Can't wait to see what it does in my clumsy hands.

So dead in here, Well thanks to James I know have a finished ar. But wanted to get some peoples feedback on sights. I have a eotech 512 on it now but want to get a set of flip up iron sights. Just wanna get peoples though on what they have used and recommend. Pictures will come when its not so late and im not being lazy.

I've got two ARs with two different solutions. One with an EOTech has some flip up sights between the EOTech and the 3x magnifier (with flip to side mount). I don't really like this setup as it feels very clunky. The other AR has a nice red dot and some cantered sights and these are a much better solution as you don't have to take your hands off or pop anything up to switch to iron sights.
