did you get the cvt or manual? the only guy at the dealer that I'm pretty sure genuinely knows about subarus said he likes the cvt better, showed me his 13 STI and said he got a 15 wrx for his wife and said he thinks the WRX might be faster....

IMO wrx/sti's need to be manual. i had an 05 wrx, a 13 wrx, and now a 15 sti. all manual. the shifting on the auto, ive heard is a bit slower than the manual. wrx is even on speed from 0-60 in both '15 models. its the handling and higher end power that the sti has over the wrx. done alot of video watching/poking around on the internet.

Could be pure conjecture, but the Subaru guy at the dealer said he thought the new cvt on the wrx shifted quicker than his sti does, I just think it's an interesting option for some people and will almost surely help them sell more wrx's

The guy at the dealership is my friend. The wrx def shifts faster with the CVT and rpms stay at a constant 6500 through shifts and boost stays at around 20psi. I am pretty impressed how it accelerates

Your friend is a good guy, wouldn't have bought from that dealer if not for him
