Default 05-07 STi DCCD vs 08+?

I'm looking to build a beefy transmission for my 08 STi. While my current transmission is good, I'm looking to make it better with billet shift forks, new synchros, and the Spec-B long 5/6 gears. Since I daily drive it, pulling the transmission and rebuilding would mean a lot of downtime.

I'm thinking of buying a used 6MT, rebuilding it, and swapping it in, then sell the current one. I'm not sure if I'm limited to 08+ transmissions, or if I could use an 05-07. Yes I know the gearing is different, but all new gears will go in anyway. But, is the output shaft and DCCD the same? Would they bolt up and work as an 08+ transmission would?

Just curious is all.
