Yah know, you did more damage than I have done in rally crashes. Of course part of that could be because I drive slow. The other part could be because I learned early on how to pick where I am going to crash. For example, I crashed once in a similar location to yours. Instead of trying to make the turn, I held it straight and dodged most of the trees until I finally stopped. It took over 40 feet of tow rope to reach the car.

I know this is beside the point and you probably already know, but just to be sure:
do NOT EVER pull the e-brake while moving unless you're about to have a serious accident. It'll completely **** up your center diff.

Also, is the oak tree okay? ?df84

Yessir, the oak won, didn't even chip off any bark. Oak vs. STI = oak always wins.

Nope, didn't purchase. The one I test drove was lacking some features I want. I'm in no hurry. I have my college car atm. I'm going to order mine.

^---What I did, plus there was not any in lightning red in the US either. Ordered it with Homelink auto dim mirrors, nav (push start and HK audio), and armrest est. As you can see, I decided to beef up the comfort since the car is already a lot on performance.

What kind of options are you adding to it? Which model are you getting?

Long time no see.

Glad you are ok, Tess. Also good to see you and Gabe are still tearing up Subarus!

Post pics of the new Sti when you get it.

Basic STI package which doesn't come with forged wheels anymore, that sucks but I guess it's a difference of breaking or bending a wheel and I hope to not be in any of those situations again. I don't want leather or a sunroof, not in Texas, I want the alcantara to keep my ass planted, I'm just sad it's not blue anymore. I'm getting the short shifter, auto dimming mirror, and upgraded speakers. Oh and a 3 dollar license plate delete.

I have heard that those are Enkei wheels, are they really not forged? I thought that I read somewhere that those are forged wheels but just not BBS.

I thought only the Launch Edition came with blue leather/Alcantara? I actually prefer the red leather/alcantara. What is the 3 dollars license plate delete? We're still in TX and it is still illegal to had no front plates?

Nope cast wheels on the basic STI. Limited & launch have the forged. No more launch editions, all sold, Subaru only made a limited number, kinda like they did in 07 with "the limited edition." It is no longer illegal to run w/o front plate in tx.

My insurance had nothing to do with it. It's not like you can't tell it was totaled. I didn't need an adjuster to tell me that. It was paid for, now it's sold and removed from my insurance. Don't blame me for your rates.

Totalled cars still get reported to insurance.....this fact is recorded whether the car is paid off or not....

Though the turbo Impreza's already are going to have relatively high insurance due to what the cars are advertised as (target demographic) and the amount of hp they make. Glad I have a Miata now.

It does increase rates. The more these kinds of cars are wrecked the higher the rates go. No doubt about it.

How many license plates am I required to display?
State law requires vehicle owners to display two license plates, one at the exterior front and one at the exterior rear of the vehicle. Plates must be securely fastened in the horizontal position of not less than 12 inches from the ground, measuring from the bottom. Texas Administration Code, Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, 217.22

* This guidance is referenced in Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) requirements to properly display the registration certificate. DPS does not inspect the license plate itself, but instead inspects the license plate lamp. View DPS Rules/Regulation Inspection Criteria

As of Sept 1, 2013: HB 625 clarifies that the penalty for operating a vehicle on a public highway without displaying the two license plates assigned to the vehicle is a misdemeanor offense punishable by a fine not to exceed $200.

^---I think it is still illegal to run no front plates. It wasn't for the past 2 years because the government forgot to include a penalty fee. It is now in the new law and yes, it is not to exceed $200.

About the car insurance, I just received money back on my insurance for dropping a 335i coupe, crimson red and adding a lightning red STi.......trust me, insurance, even on an STi is not a lot. Just saying from experience.

Yeah I read that after I posted it. For a while the police could pull you over but there was no punishment written into the law for no front plate.

As for insurance rates, it doesn't have a salvage title. I'm not sure how the insurance industry is going to find out unless they are spying on me, honestly I don't think I'm that interesting.. It was a private sell to a guy swapping her guts into a GC.
