I know Essex hasn't done a rear kit for the WRX before, but we want one also so are pressing for a good, 2-pot rear kit for the car too. Hopefully Jeff at Essex can help make that happen.

So to all the people doing their own mods... I installed the pitch stop mount successfully, but it seems when reinstalling the intercooler I couldn't get the right hose fully seated. I am able to drive around with no CEL, and proper boost but I'm worried it might slip off on a commute. I realize *what* needs to be done, but maybe I'm lacking a tool or procedure to get it perfect. I have the WRX MT. I placed the left hose in loosely and I can seem to get the bottom (you know, the part with hardly any access) to seat all the way in. Any tips for this noob? Thanks guys

if its anything like the old tmic you probably need to seat the hose before bolting down the intercooler

I just helped a friend with his a week ago and he ran into the same problem. The throttle body hoses are known to be a pain putting back on. You might want to order an upgraded silicone hose.

I did seat them before bolting it down. It's just the design of the hose to the throttle body and the outlet to the intercooler... Like seriously they are the same size or something

Whew, thanks for the heads up. I was just about to do this mod tonight, but I'll hold off doing the pitch stop until I also do a FMIC.

Ya I would. But just really surprised there are ZERO vids on taking it off and reinstalling it. It just magically comes off and then on again. Didn't want to upgrade to those hoses, because I don't know how good the support is in them. And I really don't want to get too involved in that. Pretty sure there is a certain angle for the hose and specific torque specs for the clamps with no good info. Oh yeah- the new pitch stop won't fit in very well either. Just a heads up

Which pitch stop did you get? And why/how does the new pitch stop not fit in very well? And regarding the Mishimoto silicone throttle body hose, I would imagine it's probably easier to get on and off.

I got the kartboy pitches stop. The larger end is bigger than the stock one, so I had to bend the mount to fit. And surprisingly (not surprisingly) I had trouble putting the bolt back through because it was slightly bent. Another set of hands could have made all of this much easier. And yes looking at pictures of that hose, it does seem easier. The stock hose has this plastic, perforated end. The intercooler has a large rubber end and they just DONT want to cooperate and fit nicely. Again really surprised I'm the first one to ask about any of this

I installed a kartboy pitch stop months ago with no issue. Undo the clamps ON the intercooler and remove it. Don't loosen the other clamps or you will have a hard time getting it aligned back. The pitch stop didn't require any modification for me. It simply slips right into place. Not sure why you were having to bend the mounting location.

Ya not sure either. But it definitely didn't easily go in place for sure.. And I only removed the clamps next to the intercooler, but found that with a warm engine the hose went in much easier

Does that mean you think I put it in backwards? One side is 1"-1 1/2", the other is 2"-2 1/2"... Literally impossible to put on backwards. And there is no upside down either

Not sure why this conversation doesn't have it's own thread...definitely doesn't need to be in ours since we didn't sell the product in question...

We will be installing our Perrin Pitch Stop Mount in a few weeks when we install the AVO TMIC and Perrin IC coupler.

Overall thank you to JSC for this build and write up. Incredibly helpful and informative.

I just ordered the Perrin shifter bushing and shift knob as well as a K&N drop-in filter (anxiously holding my breath for the Mishi CAI...)

Looking forward to more!

Thanks, Phileas! We appreciate the support!

In other news...we just got our Cusco Type-RS 1.5 Way Rear Diff for the 2015 WRX. It will be getting installed next week or the week after.

I will probably try the StopTech Performance pads, the Hawk HP+, and Ferodo 2500s to see which works best. The STPs will be in first and will get used at the Boxerfest autocross.
Did you guys ever test out all those pads? And if so, what were your thoughts?

We did. The StopTechs work pretty well for a street pad that will see one or two track days on not super sticky tires.

The HP+ are a little better on the car, but quite dusty and a bit noisier. The DS2500 have a little better initial bite than the HP+ though are noisier (squeal). We have the DS2500 up front and HP+ in the back (Ferodo doesn't offer a rear shape at all for this caliper) on the street and switch the fronts out to the very aggressive DS1.1 on track.

Great info, thanks. I'm deciding what pads to switch to for daily spirited driving and I'm leaning towards the Hawk Performance Ceramic since I won't be tracking the car at all.

A rear LSD for a WRX?! Unheard of since the long-gone days of the GC's and GD's! Can't wait to hear feedback on that.

Great news!!! Will they be offering a Tarmac (35/65) center diff then?! Maybe the older version would fit.

So would this LSD be able to be changed on the fly like the STI? I wouldn't mind a little more power in the rear in the summer, but switch it up for winter.
