I feel the 05 is the best looking inside and out. Wouldn't get rid of it until I die then the car will be my casket

All the STi models that were available to the USDM come with a 6spd and Brembos. The 6spd is really what you wanted in the GD chassis since the 5spd was basically a can of corn. The Brembos aren't really that great. I guess you can consider them a selling point, and they are far better than the brakes on the 02-05 WRX models, but in the grand scheme of things, they are more for looks than anything else.

I disagree that an sti is more for looks in the 08+ chasis. 6 speed is well worth it, my 5 speed with 30k grinds on power shifts and I'm putting down 335 wheel and 360tq. Brakes on a track day with hawk pads fade after a few laps so the brembo calipers and rotors would be worth it as well. Not to mention the differentials with the adjustable torque settings. To upgrade my brakes and swap a 6 speed in would be more money then to buy a used sti

I didn't say an STi was more for looks. I said the Brembos were more for looks. They really aren't THAT great. If you're looking to upgrade your brakes for a track use, you might as well spend the money on a BBK. At which point it negates the point of upgrading your brakes to Brembos and you're back to just swapping a 6spd. BTW, if you do your research, you can do a 6spd swap for around $3k. Maybe $3500 with the Brembos. I'm pretty sure that's cheaper than any STi you'll find. The DCCD really isn't that impressive. You can always spend the money that to upgrade your transmission as well and have better differentials installed for even better performance than the 6spd. Even a 6spd will break after constant abuse. I really think you need to do some reading to figure out exactly what you want:

Unabomber's FAQ thread:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=533787

Unabomber's Differential FAQ:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...php?p=15812529

This is a smart dude, probably one of the smartest if not THE smartest Subaru guy on NASIOC.

Also, if you're grinding on hard shifts, have you tried flushing your trans fluid and replacing it with extra-s? I flushed the LGT's fluids because it had a grind and the grind went away.

Also, you're welcome for the leg work.

Lol already did a trans. flush when I put the excedy stage 1 clutch in.. syncros are probably wearing a bit. Yes I understand I can get better then stock sti parts for my car for about the same or less but im honestly just bored with my narrowbody chasis and love the wide body better. I would take a nice low mileage 11+ wrx or 08+ sti for the right price is pretty much what I previously said. Anyways, any of you guys mechanics? Already have a job lined up in st. Pete. But always good to know other decent well paying shops in the area if that doesn't work out.

08 sti aren't that great from what I have read here and there. I would prefer a later sti. Probably 11+

There's atleast 10 people who don't really post up much on the thread. I do more trolling than anything, and myself and Manny organize the event.

That being said, yes most of the people who attend are from the GA, TN, NC, SC area but last year we had people come up from West Palm and Miami.

We actually just launched the website and Facebook page.

Does anyone have a fender roller in town? My rear fender lip is sitting pretty on my tire. On my s13 and s14's, I just used a metal pipe to roll and pull but I actually care about my WRX. Help!!!

You're too low, too wide or a combination of both. Get different suspension.

Stock ride height? I disagree. A think a mild drop and wheels with the CORRECT offset looks great.

The stock body. The stock ride height would look better with your suggestion.

The dude was saying he wanted to trade his 2010 wrx for a 2011 which is widebody. He doesn't want a widebody kit. I don't think anyone here is that baller. Not even Nick with his poser 22b.
