Default Complete NEWB

Hey everyone, I recently got an 06 2.5i as my daily driver and really want some projects to do over the fall and winter. It is my daily driver so I don't want to go overboard with it but I was thinking about suspension, exhaust, intake, and doing some exterior aesthetic mods without turning into a rice bowl, any suggestions on what I should go for/ what you guys use? any and all help is appreciated

Extremely reliable daily but a sleeper at the same time. And a crisp, sleek exterior.

Based on your username, I think you have two sides of yourself that are fighting for complete control over you.

One side wants cheap insurance, all wheel drive, a hawkeye front end, and a vehicle to get to school/job every morning at 8am.

The other side wants boost, sound, power, ability to make that honda down the street buy so many ebay parts to try and stay faster that he blows up.

What you really want here is to buy a car for modding, and a car for daily driving. Trust me. It's so much less stress on yourself. Especially when you try and throw parts on after you get home one night, but find yourself still working on it when you have to be at work again in 2 hours. Because once you start a project on it, you really can't stop until it's finished because it's your only form of transportation. Just my .02

I can agree with this.

I wouldn't mod it at all. That car does not respond well to mods. If you want something fast and reliable just buy a stock WRX/STI and keep it that way. They're plenty reliable out of the box and faster than most of us truly need.

Modding your car will just hurt your wallet and kill your reliability. Not to mention resale value will go down.

To put it in perspective, if a WRX/STI cost you $10 to get 1hp (just to pick numbers) an Impreza will cost you $35 for 1hp. As you can see, it really isn't worth it.

Thanks everyone, I wont go wasting my money now. I'll stick to tint, a good system, and maybe rims just to make me feel like I did SOMETHING. Nothing overboard. I'll make a new thread once I have a WRX/STI. Thanks again.
