Default share STi with my dad?

I'm planning to buy a 2005 STi next summer, but when I visited home this past weekend, my dad gave me this proposition: he will help me with purchasing the STi this fall if he gets to drive it as his AWD winter car.
He'll give me ~$5k to add to my $10k for the downpayment
He gets to drive the car through the fall and winter and break it in, I get it in the spring.

My main concerns are this: I'm not sure if he'll put it in the garage or not b/c the garage is already full of more expensive cars... and I'm sure he'll break the car in ok, but it'd just feel more comfortable doing it myself...

What do you think? Is it worth it to be able to get the car earlier (spring, already broken in vs. summer brand new) or should I just keep saving up on my own so I can buy it for myself?
