Talking Order Confirmed in Colorado!

Got a call from my dealer today. My order (Sedona Red Pearl WRX sedan) was confirmed today. He did not have the VIN# yet, but confirmed that the car will be here either the second or third week of March. Eases my mind a little with all this talk of first allocation deliveries in April! I'm getting tired of driving my Grandpa's 79 F-150 since I already sold my beloved RS!

I ordered the car with the security system upgrade, rear spoiler, and performance gauge pack. My dealer told me that the gauge pack won't be on the car as it is not a port installed option. It's dealer installed. That's Ok because I think I like the aftermarket one better!

Can't hardly wait!

Hey tri, the WRX's were going to be over here if we ordered them or not. Subaru was shipping them for a target date of about 3/14/01.

I put a deposit of $200 down but it looks like most people put down a $500 deposit. Get to your dealer as fast as you can so you will be on the 2nd shippment.

I placed my order in Colorado on Wednesday and was told that Friday (yesterday) was the cutoff for 2nd shipment. FYI.

Hey Bells, where did you end up buying your car? Flatirons?
I recently spoke with some guys at Flatirons and they are really cool there. They are very good about modified cars there. I was also informed that I might be able to get aftermarket parts from Cobb tuning and other places from them installed! which would be very nice. They had the STI suspension and CF strut tower brace in their display case, they look really nice.

Just wanted to let you know that I saw the factory gauge pack in the flesh and it really isn't all that nice. Doesn't particularly fit well, either.

My advice, get the 3 gauge panel and slap some quality gauges in there and you will be much happier.

Yes, Flatirons. I talked with other dealers in the area and everyone seemed to be sticking to MSRP, and the Flatirons salesman emailed me back offering to waive the bonus fee they were charging (very shortly after my first post on this board, so I assume he is reading right now; hi, j.e.). Flatirons also happens to be very close to my office, and a close friend bought her Legacy there and had good things to say.

As far as timing of 2nd shipment delivery, I was told sometime in April, and this was repeated to me by two other dealers to whom I spoke shortly before I placed the order.

Hey bells, did they tell you when the first shipment will be in? I asked my guy and he didn't know, he hasn't confirmed an invoice price either. Also no info on factory options such as suspension upgrades and exhaust. Did your guy tell you anything?

My car is scheduled to be in Colorado late in the second week or early in the third week of March. The only options I ordered were the rear spoiler, security system upgrade, and performance gauge pack. My dealer called me back to let me know that the gauge pack is a dealer installed option only. That is good because I really think I can do something better with the gauges than the factory stuff. Anyway, the important thing is that she will be here in March (on schedule).

SuperF:

Sorry, I had already missed the deadline for 1st order, so I didn't ask much about it. I believe he did say that it was expected in March.

Wow, I didn't know that there were so many Subie enthusiasts in the area.
Hey Bells, you've got to let me see your WRX when you get it. The WRX wagon has really grown on me, but there's no chance of me buying it.
