Post OBS paint color?

Ok. I think it's time to get a complete repaint job. Since now I have those f'ing outrageous looking 17" gold Racelines, I need something to complement them in terms of car color. I don't really like the Red/Titanium color of my OBS right now, plus the red is really an arrest me color. But I do like the attention it attracts, and I'd rather not go with a too-ricey color either.

I am still in the process of finding a decent paint shop with decent rates. I don't want cheap, and I'm going to clear-coat the hell out of the car and also research references and "good jobs" any shop has done. No waves or swirls in my future is my goal.

My previous painter who handled my pickup and my old t-bird is retired, but he recommended a gold bottom to complement the colors, with a white top. I was thinking this might look decent, but more input is appreciated! Originally I wanted yellow rims with a yellow bottom and maybe a blue or dark bluish purple top, but I saw a similiar car in SCC and it looked ricey to me, although it would have looked fantastic on the OBS...

Ideas for colors and recommendations for good pro painters?

Which blue is really Rally blue, the older RS blue or the newer? I prefer the newer because that's the kind of purplish blue I'd want if I had a gold or yellow bottom color... But if I went rally blue, are we talking rally blue all over, or just on the top half and a second color for the bottom?

The older blue is rally blue. I believe the 2000 color is called blue ridge pearl. I thankfully have a 98 rally blue pearl RS. Fun car, and either blue with gold bottom would look pretty cool.

If I was going to repaint my wagon it would be:

Gunmetal Blue (same color as the RB5)

Mustard Yellow (WRX yellow, see the Trial-R Impreza)

Mustard Orange/Arcadia White (White on the last quarter end of the car if looking at the car from above and splitting it down the length in 4 sections.)

Basically, I'd go for a solid color all the way around. The OBS (which I don't have but mine came from factory with the two-tone paint anyway) paint scheme is NASTY.

Or if you wanted to look more racy and be a little cheap, just get the slade color changed to Silverthorn Metallic and have it RISE in a diagonal to the roof wing (if you have one) starting from the second door on back. I've seen it on a WRX wagon, and it looked tight!!

Solid white looks really nice. I have seen pictures of WRX's with gold stock wheels and they look great.

I hope you dont go for a two tone paint job. Just paint the whole car in a single color no matter what you pick, rally blue cough cough. It will make the car look different from all the other OBSports and cleaner too. As a second choice after rally blue how about a dark or charcoal color to really offset the gold wheels. A really nice simple clean racy look.
