This is relatively new technology that gets considerable more light out of the same watt bulb.
The oem hihg beam 9005 (65 watts) produces 1700 lumens of light, the "new" 9011 HIR bulb (same watage) produces 2350 lumens- almost 40% more light! The catch- they are expensive (the cheapest I've found is for the Chevy Avalanche ~ $25/bulb). The other catch is the base has to be modified slightly to fit- very easy, did mine w/ a flat file in ~ 10 minutes both sides. Instructions here: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/sho...&highlight=hir differences in base isn't much: 40% is a difference you can clearly notice at night- well worth the $50 and ten minutes ![]() Big Sky |
