Question 2005 wrx rev limiter?

I just got a new 05 wrx and I was trying to figure out the transmition. I down shifted from fifth gear to third and the car reved a little to high. It felt like the engine cut out a little until the tach decreased a little. Anybody know the answer to why my care did this.

I'm not use to how quiet this engine is. I have always driven cars were the engine lets me know when to shift. is there a good thift light to put in this car that doesn't stand out on the dash.

Rich is awesome to deal with as well. It was the first mod I did to my 05 wagon.

Nah, buy this one: http://www.daddysscp.com/cgi-bin/plu...ategory_Code=E, I'm happy with it. Noted as one of the quieter ones, but has good sound.

Just a word of caution.... The rev limiter won't help you if you down-shift into too low of a gear. Your engine can exceed the "7250" mark if the shift is successful. ......the results could get ugly.

Check your manual. I believe the maximum speeds are listed for each gear (I'll look at my documentation as well). After a while you'll know how to select the proper gear for the speed your traveling. For example, I usually don't drop it into 2nd unless my speed <40. ........<60 for 3rd.
