Default What's the best way to clean uppipe/header flanges?

My uppipe is leaking and I am going to get some new OEM gaskets for the uppipe and the passenger side header just in case. What is the best way to clean the flanges for each piece? Just get a wire brush and scrub or is there a chemical cleaner?

Thanks.
