Default Any trick u can share on finding TDC?

Hi everyone... I am in the process of doing leak down test.. using the old-school "stick" method to find the TDC.

Either the STi have very little valve overlap.. or the fact the cylinder is running sideway... which is giving me a very hard time..

Doing it on a I-4 engine was extremely easy..

Any trick(s) anyone can share?

Thanks
Wilson

The crank marker. The service manual says how to do it. I forget what you need to look at though to make sure it is #1 that it at TDC.

I use a TDC indicator I bought from Trick Tools. it is a little of a pain to screw in but it works perfectly. just make sure you are on the compression stroke not exhaust :P
