Unhappy Rallitek Cobb Accessport -- Just Arrived

So I just got my accessport for my 2.5i and I went to use it on the car downstairs and I get an error message that the hardware is incompatible. The car was in test mode and it simply could not do anything more than power on.

I plugged the unit to my laptop with the accessport software and discovered they shipped it without any maps at all. The only maps I have are on the CD. So, I will be calling Rallitek tomorrow to discuss this unless they PM me here.

Any of you guys had this issue yet?

---------------------------

[EDIT] 9/4/09 The unit is being sent back to Rallitek and a new unit has been sent out to me. We are thinking there is a problem with the AP I got, so let's hope this works. Sean has been helpful with all of this and I will keep a journal how it all goes on this thread.

---------------------------

9/9/09 I was shipped a new unit and tried it today with the same results -- Hardware Incompatibility.
Cobb doesn't have something right. The error code I get on both units is APN-DNGH.

Is there no way to get the maps from the CD to the unit?

Hmmm.......on the AP V2's, you won't see any maps on the unit UNTIL it knows what vehicle you have.
Once it's married to the ECU, it will ONLY display the maps for your year/model car.

Interesting. First problem of the sort I've heard of. Let us know what happens, and for those of us with the 2.5i's, let us know whether it is worth $700!

The COBB AP V1 "could" brick your ECU, usually due to flashing the ECU with a low battery.
The COBB AP V2 is a lot better in this regard and it can usually recover from a lot of issues that the AP V1 couldn't.

Not saying you CAN'T brick an ECU with the AP V2, it's just harder.

You have to either call or send a PM to let them know what mods you have on your car so that Sean can make a custom map for your car. In a sense thats great to have a custom map for your car but bad cause you have to wait you don't get to install and go. From what I hear he's working on some maps where you ca njust download it frm the site and install. If your wondering I have one its pretty awesome better response and the engine feels healthier...don't expect crazy gains but it is allowing your engine to run right aswell as be capable of FI or cams or bigger pistons the AP can do it flawlessly. Only thing is it doesn't work on Vista 32 or 64 till just now so if your using that OS of windows you might want to go directly to the Cobbtuning site and join and download the new software that allows you to use all Cobb software to run on vista.
Hope this helps just give Sean a call or send him an e-mail as busy as he is he'll have time to answer you like said before rallitek looks out for there own believe that.

Sent Sean @ Rallitek an email -- nobody else was there on the phone to help.

I will have to wait fr a response.

VIsubi, so you're telling me that the error code of hardware incompatibility is normal?

Anyone know if Sean at rallitek is (Master2192) on here?

If he is, then I will say that he made a PERFECT map for my exhaust/intake/headers setup using Enginuity about 2 years ago, which made a night and day difference.

I do know that Master2192 name was Sean, unfortunately he passed away just over a year ago. Not the same Sean at Rallitek

if you mean on your laptop and your using Vista...yes you have to go to cobbtuning to download the version for vista...Cobb software only works on Windows XP and OS X for mac..thats why I bought a 10'' netbook for..strictly tuning but I see myself using it for tuning my gixxer's computer too.

Can't see maps until the unit is 'married' to the car. You guys are correct.

I think he has a faulty unit though. We exchanged emails the other day. It is having trouble connecting. We are sending a warranty unit.

On these NA units I have performance mapping. I have to include it on the unit of email it to you. I have been doing custom mapping since folks have such different setups.

-Marry the unit to the car. Install the factory mapping. The NA AP can datalog. Log all parameters once the car has warmed up and been driven a bit. Send idle / cruise / and a 3rd gear WOT pull. I then send back performance mapping based on the datalog.

Email: protune@rallitek.com

Please include the following info with your log:

-year / model

-transmission type

-octane fuel

-mods list

-last 4 digits of the serial number on the back of your AP

We are doing things this way because different brands of intakes all scale differently. The intake is a critical factor in the tune.

There are other tune options too. Any Cobb Protuner can tune your RalliTEK NA Accessport. You can download RaceTuner from Cobb to tune yourself with your RalliTEK NA Accessport.

If anyone has any questions post up or email me!

Only problem with Racetuner is it will only work with the custom map unless you leave custom maps open for viewing. This is my only issue to be honest...Personally though all Iwanted to do with my custom map was to view perameters thru Racetuner and observe graph read outs...anyway on doing this Sean for it to be compatible with our maps.

I haven't been following this extremely closely, but I'm assuming this is for the 2.5 N/A only and not the 3.0 right?

What have you got for a 09 Legacy N/A. I don't see much on your site besides suspension mods.
