Hey guys...I'm pretty new here, I've been watchin the forum for awhile tho. Nasioc gave me that last push I needed to become a Scooby owner, and I can finally say I am the proud owner of an MY09 WRX Premium in WR Blue Mica. I look forward to gettin plenty of help on mods and maintenance in the months to come from everybody here. I know everyone here loves pics, Ill post some later if I can get outta the driver seat

Josh

Looks like you've got your priorities straight, at least. Pics be damned; go driving!

Yea, the salesman told me "just don't use cruise control for the first 3,000 miles, drive her as hard as you want!" Couldn't believe it. From what I see on here, looks like proper break-in is keepin it under 4k for the first 1000 miles?

LOL, I was thinking "PICS".

But I guess pics would still be appropriate.

When was it built?

Haha, sorry, it rained all day yesterday, forgot to mention that in the op. I picked it up for 25,751, the only option being the SPT short shifter. I know I can get the build date off of the VIN, just not sure. Once I do, I'll post it along with some pics. It was delivered two weeks ago, so it was pretty damn new...only 5 miles on it, now sportin 267. I'll steal the work cam tomorrow and post pics

Yea, i was lookin at base wrx's, and could've had one for 23,500. But when I got them down to 25,700 on the premium, I had to bite. Signing the papers, the finance guy looked at me n said "you beat the ***** out of us!"

I wouldn't drive it as hard as possible, but don't be a *****-foot haha. And he was right, try not to keep it at constant rpm for long periods of time.

Pardon my ignorance, but is cruise control really that bad on a new engine? I had never heard anything about that before. I can understand if you set the cruise control at > 4k rpms, but what if you're just cruising at about 3k?

Cruise control should not be used at first once the motor is broken in then use it as much as you want. To properly break in the motor you should drive it nice and easy varying rpms and try not to keep it at a constant rpm.
