Cool air conditioning hose leak on my 03wrx

so i have no ac in my car. when i turn it on it blows hot air. i took it in to subaru today and the mechanic showed me where the leak was at. It's the topside hose on the right front(driver side) part of my motor (looking at it). i saw this green stuff all dried up like it was leaking so i assume that that is it. anyways they told me that that hose is $400 friggin dollars plus maintenance. i was like peace out cuz i don't want to pay that much for a small hose and come to you guys on here that have experienced that same leak of some sort before and have replaced that hose because the line was leaking. their mechanic there said that i could find a used one somewhere but it will probably leak too. what do you guys/gals recommend i do?

thanks

Darren

i had the same problem tried buying a used one but shipping didn't go through, just add some good leak seal but not the one mixed already with refrigerant.
