I just watched a documentary called Second Skin. It is about World of Warcraft addicts. It was interesting how these people make the game more important than sleep or brand new babies. Apparently people are ruining their lives just to play this game.

Any body here addicted or know someone who was addicted that has an interesting story to tell?

I used to be addicted fairly hardcore. I had no social life and would go straight from work to WoW. Often I wouldn't eat dinner because I was playing. Straight from the door to the PC and play from 5 until midnight nearly every night.

And on the weekends I'd sometimes wake up at 8 AM and play all day long...only stop to go to the bathroom or go outside and smoke a cig.

I can remember plenty of times when I'd come home from work on Friday, play from 5 PM to 2-3 AM, sleep until 8-9 AM, wake up and play until 2-3 AM...without eating anything on Friday or Saturday.

I've still got my characters but haven't logged in for about 4 months now. Wait...I did log in once after some patch but didn't play more than 10 minutes or so.

I enjoy the game...it's a lot of fun...and I do miss playing at times. But I'm glad I'm not as "addicted" as I was.

Former addict as well. Got off work, came in the house, threw my coat on the couch on the way to the computer where I sat and played until it was bedtime. Only stopping to get another soda, drink, or order pizza.

Killed my social life. When I DID go out with my friends, they were WoW friends and all we did walk talk about the game when not playing the game. *sigh*

Haven't played for about 6 months now and my life has never been better. The thought of logging in and going into another instance makes me literally slightly nauseous.
