I haven't put together a meet in a while so I think it's time.
After looking through some places we could visit throughout Washington, I came across Mount St. Helens Volcanic Monument. It's about a 3 hour drive down. I will research more information about it and post it up. If anyone from Portland wants to meet us there let me know and I'll get a seperate list going for you guys and give me the meeting place and time you guys want to meet and we can try to meet up @ Helens at the same time. Leaving @ 10AM Leaving From: Krispy Kreme in Tacoma I will add directions to KK, and from KK to Mt. St. Helens. I will be handing out printed directions to anyone who wants to take one at the meet incase anyone gets lost. Rule - No Asshattery leave that shiat at home, I see you driving like an arsehole I will call you out on it in front of everyone and embarass you. So if you plan on driving like an idiot please do it elsewhere, I DO NOT want attention from the SP or any local law enforcement. If you think you can follow a simple rule, we'll all get along just fine and have one hell of a time. Stuff to bring - Radio!!! We will be on channel 2 - Jacket, incase it rains or it's cold out. - Something to snack on in the car... please don't bring a case of red bull because we're not pulling over because you have to pee every 10 minutes. Although we will make a few pit stops since it is a long drive. - A hooker/co-pilot... incase you get bored LOLRoute We Will Use To: ![]() Back ![]() We will meet the Portland people @ Exit 68, whoever will be leading the portland crew please PM me and i can give you my number to where we will be pulling over at, because im not sure if the exit leads to a town right away or not.

Dunno if anyone would be down but...
A few months ago a couple of buddies and I did this St. Helens drive and on the way back on Highway 504, where it meets I-5, stopped in Castle Rock to get some Pizza. It's pretty accessible, was a big joint to accommodate large parties with delicious pizza. Think the place is called Papa Petes if anyone is interested (www.papapetes.com). Just thought I'd throw that out there since it'll probably be around dinnerish time when you're all heading back up |

if you are you are talking about this route(link below), dont have a really low car. you will bottom out and rub bad. i just did this drive about a month ago. the roads are beat up from last winter. it is a fun drive, but not for the faint of heart. cops noramly dont patrol there to much.
check your brakes and tires before going. if you have a known problem with your car that could leave you stranded, dont go. not many towns around. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sadd...9&ie=UTF8&z=10 |

We talking Johnston Ridge side or Windy Ridge side? I'm thinking Johnston Ridge if its an official fancy "monument". Count me in for Portland area (Vancouver), no hooker or codriver at this point unless you count the 4 legged kind.

I've been to both sides. The Johnston Ridge observatory is cool, but to even look at the mountain, you have to pay a fee for each person. I know this because my family got booted by a ranger. Windy Ridge has better roads to drive and to me has a bigger awe factor with the devastation. Just my two cents.
