Oh hai, I'm in Omaha

I just realized that I'm in Omaha without posting the obligatory "Hey everyone...I'm in a new place I've never been to before. Tell me great things to do."

And the sad fact is I've been here since Monday night, I'll be "at work" until 5 PMish and my flight leaves at 6 AM tomorrow morning.

So I haven't done much exploring...no rental car this time. I did get a mini-tour of downtown (Old Market, saw the river, etc) but that's about it. I ate a so-so dinner at Upstream last night.

So I've got one evening here left. Where should I eat? What should I see?

Oh wait...the Cornhuskers are playing an away game tonight. That means every bar will have the game on. I should watch that.

Actually it's pretty nice here. It's very clean, people are cordial, the city looks good...but it's empty. There just aren't many people around it seems.

As my guide was driving me past the river he said "and over there is Iowa". Oh crap! That's the freaking Missouri river! Neato!

I had grass fed "Omaha" filet last night.

The steak was good but they covered it in sauce which was "meh", the potatoes were "meh" and the asparagus was "meh".

So it sorta ruined the whole steak experience. I need to find a good "standard" ribeye tonight. Medium rare please.

As I know very little about college football I have been told to not mention football today. In fact I was told to not use the words "foot" and "ball" in the same sentence.

Where are you staying? Somewhere downtown by the Qwest Center/Old Market area?

If you are willing to take a taxi I enjoy both The Bohemian Cafe [http://www.bohemiancafe.net/] or Lo Sole Mio [http://www.losolemio.com/] for classic Omaha eateries.

Yep...real close to downtown. The hotel has a free shuttle to take me around so I could easily get to either place.

I think a couple other people have mentioned Bohemian too.
