Question Getting ready for winter..

Hey all,
This will be my first winter with my 05 RS. I just wanted to know what everyone did to get ready for winter? Also I'm looking at getting new winter tires and thought I would ask what people use.

I live in Canada,BC. I will get alot of snow and it does get cold! Any info would help!

Thanks all

Get some good winter tires. I personally went with the
Bridgestone blizzak WS-60's on stock wrx 16's. There are a couple good options out there. Tire rack has done some good tests on winter tires.

Make sure all your fender wells and plastic under body panels are snugged up nice and tight.

Make sure your mudflaps are secure.

Change your oil and test your coolant. Check other fluids.

Do a thorough underhood inspection of hoses and such.

Thoroughly clean your car, wash and wax on one of the last nicer days in fall. It will make it worth it when you want to wash the winter grime off occasionally during the snowy months.

And finally.....enjoy the AWD!

Nothing different with respect to your previous car. (unless it's your first?). Where in BC are you though?

Tyres: What xsnap said, but look also at Costco - they carry the Michelin Xice which are amongst the best ones

Mudflaps: if you don't have them, get them

Battery: check if it's not too old... they like to give up on cold days.

Accessories: ice scraper, shovel, battery cables

Driving: BE CAREFUL! AWD doubles your acceleration ability, it doesn't do jack for braking.
