Default GRRR WHICH CATBACK TO GO WITH 08/09 wrx (poll included)

Well my catback is going to be ordered here soon enough. Well I have read a bunch of threads about the tsudo n1 and turboxs and I know they are both not the quietiest and thats fine because I am not looking for anything quiet. I am looking for loud but not too over the top. Now loud in my case is a full 3 inch straight pipe from the turboback (I ran that on my 2005 wrx), and quiet is HKS hi power in my opinon. So I guess real question here is for the people that have had a personal experience with both the turboXS and the tsudo n1 on their 2008/2009 wrx or STI, or heard in person please select an option in the poll and give feedback.

I have watched pretty much all the videos on youtube between the two and its really hard to try and decided which is louder and better sounding because the quality of the capturing devices are all different. The loudness applies to both stock downpipe and aftermarket downpipe owners.

Thanks for the help
-Daniel

Videos

PS here is another thing for me and other owners to think about for people who are split between these 2 exhausts. (Feel free to add to the list, I would really like input)

TurboXS catback:

Pros:
-Stock looking
-Full 3 inches
-Reputable name brand
-Descent price (I can get it for 374)
-Perfect fitment with stock DP and aftermarket DP

Cons:
-Been reading threads about it possibly not being loud enough
-No resonator so it may get raspy with a catless set up
TurboXS videos:

TurboXS CBE with stock DP:

[

TurboXS TBE:

Tsudo n1 catback:

Pros:
-Full 3 inches
-Resonators to provide less rasp and a little more rumble
-AMAZING PRICE!!!! (279!)

Cons:
-Welds are sometimes weak within the piping and actual muffler
-Flanges are sometimes not as thick as id like them to be
-Fart can N-1 style to attract more police and ricer attention

Tsudo n1 videos:
Tsudo n1 CBE w/stock DP:

i have the same exact problem with trying to decide between these two, but thanks for the videos! i havent seen some of those. i think i'd go with the turboxs, but thats just me. ive heard the tsudo n1 in person, way too loud for my taste and the guy said he got tickets for it being to loud lol. but if you want it LOUD, go with tsudon1

i'm running on a turbo xs and used to have a tsudo n1 as well and they were both hooked up to a catted dp. they both sound pretty good imo and the youtube videos actually aren't too bad in sound quality. the only reason i sold the tsudo was it was just way too loud for me and i didnt wanna get ticketed. the turbo xs is definitely softer but you dont lose the grumble and its actually not that raspy like the spt i used to have. one con with the turbo xs is that it rattles but i think i can get rid of it by removing the bottom heat shield and you're right in saying that it looks way more stock than the n1. even though the tsudo is loud, it does sound pretty dang good. you kinda have to raise your voice if you wanna talk to someone in the car, haha. imo, it just comes down to volume. you want medium volume or loud? hope this helps.

I have the Turbo XS catback on my '09 WRX hatchback.

With the stock downpipe, it has a nice raspy sound that's loud enough to be noticed without being anywhere near ticketing status. With the Invidia catted downpipe now added, it's noticeably more raspy and slightly louder but still far from being a cop magnet. It sounds really good.

Ya man I heard the n1 over the weekend on a stock 09 wrx and I was lol
Sounded soo good. I have a friend with a 2008 wrx that has a catless DP and has a turboXS catback comming in this week or next so im gonna go hear that as well and make my decision. Right now though, im leaning towards the n1 for the price, look and sound. GOSH imo the n1 slant on the 08/09 hatches look agressive as all heck!

I am on the fence with this as well. Although I am a sedan so my options are even more limited... Perrin, TurboXs, Invidia N1, and I think that's it. The N1 is insanely loud, so I won't do it, but it is the cheapest alternative.

You know, you would be surprised on the sound. Although the n1 is classified as the loudest exhaust on most cars, you would have a different understanding of loud if you ran open DP or even straight pipe. The n1 is loud and pretty noticable im not going to lie. But to be honest, its not too bad at all. Most people either get dissappointed when its too quiet so start off loud and then work your way down the ladder with trades and such....

Seriously though if you have a 08/09 owner in your area with the n1, hear it in person. Sounds sooo sweet!

IMO turboxs turboback is the best sounding exhaust I've ever heard.

My vote is for the turboXS Catback. I like the stock look and don't really care for the tilted tip.

I had an Invidia N1 and I thought it made an awesome rumble but it was a little too loud for my taste. Also it would sometimes resonate at certain rpm's making it kindof annoying. The design is very similar to the EZR Performance one. It will definetly get you attention if that's what your looking for.

^ The whistle sound on the perrin catbacks is terrible. That high pitch whistle for a 800 dollar exhaust....no thanks.

U mean the whistle I don't have? It's a older issue that has since been fixed.
