Default What the heck is this thing for???

Just got some wheels and tires, but the hub rings came separate along with 4 "retainer clips". These retainer clips are just curved wire that are supposed to be used in conjunction with the hub ring. But what goes in the wheel first...the hub ring or the retainer clip?

Anybody know what I'm talking about, cuz I sure don't?

Ask your tire shop?

Hubcentric rings on my wheels are plastic, and fit snugly when Insert to the rim. Only comes out if I knock it out with a screwdriver from the opposite side.

Yeah, my hub rings fit nice and snug. I had to get em in with a rubber mallet. But, these "clips" are weird. I was hoping to get the wheels on before Monday, but I guess I'll just wait to hear from Luke at Tire Rack.

Poly-Hub ring goes in the wheel first, then the retainer clip (wire).

-Just posting this as a follow-up in case anyone ever runs into the same dilemna, they can search for it and hopefully find this post. I searched for hours

Any chance you could post some pics to show what you're talking about? I've never seen any sort of metal/wire ring to go along with the plastic hubcentric rings.

Funny you ask...
Here you can see the bronze colored wire fitting inside the SSR Type C. Below it is the poly hub ring that you are probably familiar with. It doesn't go the entire circumference of the hub ring. There's about an inch gap, but the invoice from tire rack specifically stated the hub ring required the retainer clip.

WTF, sorry for the wacky font!
