Default Winding Road ditty on 09 WRX SPT

Just a little review of some SPT parts on the 09 WRX. They seemed pretty impressed with the handling and shifting improvements. They also question the justification for $10K of the STI. Uh-oh! I particularly liked the part where they discuss warranty and blow ups (er...I mean random explosion).

LOL, Ok... having owned both the 09 265 WRX and the 09 STi. The 09 STi is a totally different experience, and the guy doing the writeup not knowing the history of the transmission and drive train differences between the WRX and the STi wouldn't know better than to say what he's saying.

I totally agree with ya. I have 09 wrx and I have driven 09 sti many times. I think 10k difference can be justified pretty easy...

Whats up with saying 09' 265 WRX? Is there a choice of power with the 09's, or did they switch up something in the powertrain mid year?

I think they are referring to the 40hp bump in power from '08 to '09.

I am surprised they noticed a difference with the Strut Tower Brace. I was under the impression that didn't do much to help. I sure wouldn't mind taming the excessive body roll in my car.

WRX265 I think is just differentiating between that and the auto Impreza GT that still has 225.

HA that article seems so dumbed down and biased. It seems more like a promotion for SPT parts then a real review...

Fail

I'd like them to take those 2,000 dollars of SPT and put them on the STi. Then they can feel what the "brash, bulgy, fart-can blow-hole" sti's can do

Most SPT stuff is overpriced and you can find much better in the aftermarket. It's more for those who don't want to work/look and just want to roll mods into a payment.

I do agree that there is justification in the 10k difference for the STi, but imho, the difference from the 2.5i to the WRX is greater than WRX to STi.

For all the retards: Canada offers a WRX (08 specs) and a WRX 265 (09 specs). There, I said it.

**** article indeed.

I would bet good money that if you put two cars out there, one with strut brace and one without and told them to figure out which is which it wouldn't happen.

And saying that the stock '09 understeers more than a Ralliart? Methinks they're confused between Ralliart and Evo.
