Default MAIC make sure all doors and windows are secure, house got robbed!!

My house got broken into and robbed yesterday morning, took 42"tv,9mm,$5000 in jewelry, digital camera, even stole stereo equipment out of my eclipse in my garage. Not to mention they turned my house upside down and now my daughter is terrified to sleep in her own house. So please make sure all your windows doors are locked, just want to let the community know. This happened in the day time not at night and I live in a good area but it dont matter anymore. Now the insurance company is robbing us,so you get a double dose when something like this happens. Was planning on goin to the pence meet but this ruined entire weekend!!

^^ The pawn shops in Va have to report to the police every transaction they do in the day. So if you have the serials, this stuff will pop up in the police system and they should go grab it.

My brother works at Greenbrier pawn listing electronics and other high value items on ebay. If you have the serial numbers and description of some of the items, I could ask him to keep an eye out. I could also ask him to tell like 1 of the 10 hot chicks that work their who do the jewerly, to see if anything pops up. Although, there is a chance he might not ask the girls, because he is shy and doesn't like to talk to them...that and he doesn't like it when I ask him to do things...but its still worth a shot...

Scary stuff. I had a neighbor last weekend tell me that the "bus stop" chatter among parents recently was that houses in my neighborhood were being broken into during the day when folks were at work. I work long hours and it's apparently obvious since I live alone. Staking me out is an easy in. So.... I keep everything locked up as well as it can be and I feed my Doberman less.

Asked around and see what services were in the area too, cable TV, plumbing, pest control, landscaping, contractors, etc.

Don't touch the door knobs and hope they can lift a print off, might get lucky.

Glad no one was hurt, I am sure you'll make your little girl feel protected again soon.

Create a neighborhood watch team if you don't live in one.

I live in the same area actually, right next to Greenwood and Woodside High School. One of my friends live over there and his dad woke up at three in the morning to noise outside. He thought it was him going out to the car to get something since he tends to stay up late, but when he opened up his bedroom door and saw that he was sleeping, he got his gun and ran outside and shouted that he was armed and ready to fire (his dad's a police officer by the way) and then he saw a teenager, about 16 years old, run off down the street. This was about two months ago.

Also, burglary during the day is actually a lot more common than you think. Everyone's at work so, there's nobody at home to watch things. With the home security alarms. If it's a smart burglar, he knows that he has five minutes to run in and gather as much as he can before the police come. If you ask me, having a sticker on your window that says you have an alarm in your house will work just fine. It's an automatic deterrent for any crook.

A word of advice: If you're in a situation where someone tries to break into your house, call for the fire department.

1.) Because they have to get to your house in four minutes or less.
2.) A police officer usually occupies the fire department on calls.

Well, most burglary's are random, random in the sense of looking around and finding a house that looks vulnerable..

I think I've seen you around, do you leave for work really early in the morning? You're military, right?

Haha trust me, you haven't seen it because i haven't had it to drive yet, the previous owner is still driving it around because he needs it until he can find a car for him to buy. If i didn't know this guy, I wouldn't do something like this. His priorities are higher than mine and I have others that can take me to where I need to go, he however, does not.

But it'll be a 2002 WRX sitting on Olive Green 04 STi BBS's
