Default Agrressive fitment, arch rolling/pulling..

Heyy, I have a 94 WRX wagon, which I'm about to order a set of 17x9 DPT's or Torque's, for now..

Is there any way of rollin my arches and pulling them if I need to without an arch roller?

Are there any ghetto methods? Lol.

Reason I ask is I'd rather do it all myself

If it isnt possible, I'll have to get someone to do it, but dont ask you dont know

Thanksss

you can use any kind of round object like a baseball bat or a metal pole, it just wont turn out as nicely as it would if you used a fender roller.

This.

A fairly decent write-up can be found here, regarding the bat method: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1777067

Oh, and you should probably post pics of your wagon... because I want to see them.

(And my father was born in Northhampton. Cheers!)

Awesome, thanks for the link dude! Will be doing this tomorrow!

I can post some pics, its still in bits due to waiting on motor to arrive (feel silly posting pics, as it isnt much to look at right now ). But I have plenty of nice bits waiting for it!

Maybe you guys can give me an idea of which wheel and which finish? I'm having trouble choosing between the 17x9 DPT and 17x9 Torque..

Anyway, here are a few pics..

Could do with a clean, but there are a few pics. Its currently sat on BC racing RM series coilovers, APS DR series 3.5" turbo back, FMIC, few other bits that cant be seen in photos. I have various parts waiting to be fitted, Gold Brembo's, TA splitter, Roger clark uprated oil pump, brand new TD05 16g, blah blah, just waiting for my motor, feels like forever! Lol.

Thanks again for your help guys

but does anyone know if those are aftermarket fenders/quarters.. (i realize its wide like a 22b) or if they're just cut and reshaped?

I'd hazzard a guess at them being aftermarket, if you've seen the Roger Clark Gobstopper, I think that uses the same kit fenders/quarters.

Yup. Went to the School Of Boys and I *think* he lived in the Cliftonville area for most of his time.

But yes, we can be nice... although a bit lacking in the etiquette/politeness area.

You're resculpting a part of your bodywork.

Don't use a pipe... if you're going to do it once, and it can't be undone... gotta do it right however much it costs.

Otherwise it's like cutting a sunroof with a can-opener. It's POSSIBLE do it...........

Also when this look goes out of style everyone's going to look stupid with mangled fenders that they can't put back to stock... I mean would you buy a car with stock wheels/pulled fenders. But at least yours won't be rusted through

I gave it a go, the roll itself was perfect, but got 3 or 4 annoying pin dents in the front right fender, purely because i put the pole in too far.

Not bothered, just get a new fender for that side and do the other one with more care.

I tried the right rear quarter and only did that a little as was a bit scared of ruining the arches lol!

But I think I'll do this for temporary then get it done properly, as the little dents are annoying!

Why not rent a fender roller for like $20? They're not expensive to rent and are simple to use.

A local body shop by me lends it out for free as long as you leave a deposit.

Fender rollers arent necessarily better than a bat or, in the OP's case, a pole. I know a couple guys that purely use bats bc they have a better feel for how much pressure, angle, etc.. that they are applying to the fender. So just bc ur using a bat or pole doesnt mean you are doing it wrong.

to OP.... lets see some finished pics!

Yeah I think I'm gonna have to do this, I thought it was be easy, but I like things to be perfect, which isnt gonna happen using the bat method, Lol.

I used a scaffold pole, which worked amazing for the roll itself, but I stuck the pole up a bit too far, so ended up putting 4 annoying pin dents in the fender.

I've learnt from this though, so going to find a bat and give the other side ago now maybe.

You've given me the motivation to do it again now. Lol Talk about changing my mind.

I'll get some pics up of my roll, but you will have to excuse the dents Lol.

Thanks dude

Why do you need 9" wide wheels out of curiosity?

This is why Scotty is making fun of you.

pulling and rolling are two different things, rolling just makes the little lip on the inside of the fender go away or give more clearance to a wheel, pulling or flaring makes the fender pull out more.

you shouldnt have to heat up **** if you are rolling the inside lip of the fender/qp
unless you are scared about having paint crack where it isnt visible and where its giong to be hit by rocks and debris everytime you drive.
