You can also try COBB Tuning in Plano, TX. They also do rebuilds using stock parts or aftermarket gears.

I can't answer your specific question though, I do my own work as I have time.

PM or email Phil @ andrewtech, they have responded to my emails rather quickly. They are the company that PPG recommends stateside to install their gears.

Cool deal. Glad it appears to be working out for you.

Shipping distance may even work out better for you.

Shipping FAQ....search and read it. You are also best served by going with a profession shop for your transmission rebuild. If you are doing gears and a LSD for $500.....I'd question that price. Seriously. Ask them how many Subaru trannies they do in a month....then call Andrewtech or Rallispec and ask them how many they do in a week. Experience is the key, NOT price with a Subaru transmission.

Calvin does the transmission rebuild there. They rebuilt mine for the same price. I got the Rallispec JDM sti ver6 gearset. Calvin has done many transmission before. He has built the ESX drag car trans and many other cars. Just ask Chris Flemming for the list of well known cars Clavin has built transmission in that still work today.

This. You can't just slap a trans together and call it good. I definitely think you get what you pay for. NOW TO BE CLEAR, THIS IS A GENERAL STATEMENT OF THOUGHT, NOT TO BE DIRECTED AT COBB OR THE FINE TECHS THEY EMPLOY. I'm sure cobb wouldn't slap something together and call it good. Cobb wouldn't be as respected as they are if they didn't offer quality with their name.

If you tried calling over the weekend, we are only open during the week. That's probably why you couldn't get through. Our normal hours are 9am to 5pm (EST) Monday through Friday.

I haven't heard from him in a while, I almost forgot about him! I think he's pretty cheap too.

Default COBB Tuning, your one stop for quality performance and service!

COBB Tuning only employs qualified and certified professionals who take pride in their work.

Calvin Dotson is a Senior Master Subaru-certified technician and is also factory-certified in 5-speed and 6-speed repair and rebuild services. He is also a GM-certified Master technician. Calvin was shop foreman at Subaru of Plano in Plano, TX for many years before coming to COBB Tuning Plano. You will be hard-pressed to find a better service technician.

The $500 rebuild as mentioned above was for labor only, all parts were supplied by the customer and the transmission was already removed from the car. For complete R&R, rebuild and parts, pricing will be different.

Please call COBB Tuning Plano for more information on our entire range of services at 214-291-3020 or visit us at www.cobbtuningplano.com.

We look forward to taking care of all of your service and performance needs.
