Default Ultimate highway monster Ver 8 EJ207?!

So now that my outback sport(04) is near complete I am already thinking about what type of build I want to do over the winter. So I decided that I am going to make it the ulitmate highway pull car... 40/50mph-150+

So what does everyone think I should do for a set-up to make me abtain my goal.... Tranny... Turbo.... Fuel.... And I'm gonna stay stock block for this build for the time being. What I was thinking was

-Rotated GT35R(what Size?)
-850-1000cc
-SMC Meth
-JDM Ver. 8 STi 6 Speed
-105oct open source tune
450 AWHP Goal

the setup looks familiar but should be pretty sick in an OBS.
I wouldnt get anything larger than a .82 housing. If i had the $$ i would go twinscroll.

Ya. At first I was thinking about doing a twin scroll 3071/3076 but meh... Lol.... I'm just gonna scratch the idea of the extra $$$ on twin scroll and do a full ball bearing 35R, make more power, for the same or less cash... Thanks for the imput!

Highway monster on a stock block....

If you want to make big numbers I would at least get some nice drop in pistons/rods.

Also as audiosavvy said, don't drive that fast on public roads....

No E85 around me...

And there is no need for a safety advisory as there is a proper time and place for everything. I am also just trying to let the members know what my targeted power range should be as I want it to be a top end car. Ill edit my post to say from "40mph to Speed Limit" Thanks for the consideration but there is zero need to say anything.

And lastly I would like to do some drop in internals down the road but I would just like to see what the potential of the stock motor is before I take it to the next level and put some like cosworth forged internals in and head work to the version 8.

Thanks all for your imput so far!

Not to be a dick but put your flame suit on, no one wants to hear you building your car to be a Highway monster. US Highways are not the same as the German Autobahn.

nothing listed on the e85vehicles.com site for CT and only two stations in Mass.
http://e85vehicles.com/e85-Massachusetts.htm. The NE simply doesnt have enough stations.

Ya... Thank you for checking. Its a shame that they don't get E85 out here. But I do understand they can only make so much do to specific reigonal resources.

What ratios do you think? PPG Straight Cuts?
Do you think that the 5 speed/PPG combo would beat a stock STi 6 Speed in the aspect of higher speed accleration. Im not looking for top speed but for higher speed accleration.

Humm thats good to know. Im a total Newb when it comes to E85 so is there any way that I could run normal pump 93oct but with a simple maybe map change run E85 with a little bit of 93oct pump remaining in the tank? Or is this just a total bad idea and just stay with the normal pump gas... Thx

you cant tell where that picture was taken, so it is stupid to assume that it was on a highway just to try and make a point.

edit: hahaha I was just about to say I bet it was on the lake bed

For the love of god, it is spelled "input."

Next, the Ver.8 would be a bad choice if you are going to be picking a JDM block. The Ver.7 had forged pistons from the factory. Neither version is a good choice to leave stock and run a big turbo.

To find e85 pumps, go to google and search "e85 pumps."

Do a search for the member "dug-e-fresh" and then just copy his setup. He is probably the highest HP 2.0L on this site.

And, finally, a WRX is a very stupid choice for a top-end car.

both ej207 versions are fine to run a big turbo even in stock form, the hold back which can be improved to take advantage of a big turbo are the cams. A much higher lift will improve the breathing from 6k-8k+. IIRC dug-e-fresh upgraded to 272s when he tore down his block when he was suspect of something with his motor.
Props to the OP who wants to do something different in an Outback Sport

I'm probably not the only one who wouldn't want to try and make 500whp on non-forged pistons. It isn't a tough issue, just look for a V.7

agreed about the v.8 pistons, they definitely don't take kindly to knock. The OP is looking for close to 450whp , the only thing that would keep the v.8 ej207 from having an undesirable sunroof would be high octane levels. E85 would be perfect for him if it was readily available in his area.
Forged pistons on a v.8 would be great insurance for the high boost levels needed to reach his target goal. IMO, his goal is attainable, but wont have the longevity as a v.7 would with the v.8 pistons.
