Yep, first update in forever. I'm in Chicago, just finished day 3 of rehearsals. Here's a couple pics to appease you animals:
![]() ![]() This morning's walk to the theater from our apartments: ![]() Some interior shots of the theater - simply stunning, the pics don't do it justice. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Me getting a head mold made for hats/makeup/masks/etc. Yes, it was awful. When they covered my face (except for my nostrils), I had to sit there without being able to see or hear anything, unable to move, for 20 minutes. I made it about 5...ugh... ![]() ![]() I have many other pictures, but these are probably the only ones I'm allowed to show for now. I would be fired for sharing confidential information immediately. Anyway, the days are long (10-12 hours), lots of choreography to learn, lots of cues/staging to figure out. We open November 19th. No rush...no rush at all... But the show is shaping up to be a lot of fun. I was laughing so hard today I was almost crying. And my god, some of the acts in the show are beyond words. The talent in this thing is...incredible.That's all for now. I gotta crash. I haven't had any good OT time for 2 weeks, going into withdrawal! Okay, not really. There's plenty to keep me entertained right now. Like, oh, I don't know, the general overall amazingness of being a part of such an incredible experience. Hmmm...perusing teh OT for an afternoon, or rocking the stage with Cirque. Yeah, tough call...

so uh, when the hell did you get to chicago? you gonna have any time available this weekend?
Oh and your crappy camera phone pics don't do the Chicago Theatre justice, it's an abolustely beautiful place, we saw Phantom Of The Opera there last year. Since you are nearby you'll want to check out Rosebud Prime with the lady friend, that is if you like beef. Madison and Dearborn. |

Whoah, congratulations. I get the impression that Cirque du Soleil is pretty selective about who gets in.
I've been to a few of their shows and been amazed at all kinds of stuff every time.... Like the dude who carried a ladder (not the folding kind) into the middle of the stage (not leaning on anything) and climbed up one side, over the top, and down the other side. |

Hey guys... Yeah, I'm really limited in what I can share with people, even my own family. I can tell you this: They treat us really well. I have a very nice apartment overlooking Lake Michigan, with access to a jacuzzi, weight room, game room, and rooftop lounge. We can sign up for free massage or pilates sessions with the PT's, catered meals, and a good salary/benefits package with room for advancement. The trade off is long days and lots expected from the artists. However, so far I feel very positively inclined toward the company. They definitely value their talent, and it shows.
Sorry about the lack of pictures of gymnasts in leotards, but I can't share any pics of costumes, the stage, nothing. But yes, there are definitely attractive women here. ![]() However, I'm off the market, so I'm stuck with the ol' ball and chain here: ![]() Darn. |
