¿que?

provided your tripod's leg isn't in the way it has very little to do with the macro capabilities of your lens.

Ya I know that the legs don't have to the do with the Marco capabilities. However using a tripod that the column can be removed and adjusted can be a big help to those macro shots.

Like this... I know some of my options I just wanted to input if anyone on here uses them.

Thanks.

Eh, if you want to do a lot of macro - get a tripod like you've shown and get a macro slider rail thingy so you can move the camera forward and back without having to move the entire tripod. Any tripod where you can put the legs straight out (90 degrees) and put the center post horizontally is good.

btw - this thread should hae been in the photo equipment review thread

I can't find the photo equipment review thread.... but anyways... I am kind of looking for that type of tripod. However I wanted to see if anyone on this board had any experience with any of them so I can learn more before I purchase my tripod.

Get one where the legs extend 89-90 degrees (hint - the one you showed doesn't have a 90 degree leg extention - they should sit flat on the ground).

2nd - if you can afford it - get carbon fiber.

3rd - my experience is with Manfrotto. It's a good balance of quality and price. Mine is similar to this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...bon_Fiber.html

I use an aluminum Manfrotto - don't know the exact model number - something like the 190. I put it together with the grip head that allows faster composition (at a minimal loss of stability). Any decent set-up is going to cost a few bucks.
