Default AT&T upgrade prices suck donkey balls.

ATT wants $299 for the Tilt 2. Is there anyway of getting one for cheaper? If I get a new number its only $199, however I'm still bound by a new 2 year contract either way. This pisses me off because I got the Tilt 1 for $35. Is there such a thing as a retention deptartment?

i dont think so. i've tried several times for them to get me something other than a 1 time $25 credit to stay on, and I am out of contract as an Iphone user and they havent bit.

but i would be very interested in hearing success stories.

I'd just leave ATT, thats what I'm doing. You might try calling them, but probably not get anywhere.

Try going to multiple stores and bugging all the salesman there. You might be able to get that extra 100 dollars dropped. I guess it depends on how much the guy wants the sale.

Wait 7 months. Then you can get a cheap upgrade phone for signing another 2-year contract.

At least, I was able to get a Palm Centro for something like $49 when I re-upped.

I would wait the 7 months but my kid decided it would be fun to store the phone in a glass of coke for the night. Touch screen dosent work and only half the keys work. Its a bitch to use.

Well, you're ****ed then. Maybe buy a refurb Tilt 1?

And beat $$ worth out of your kid?

This thread should be renamed "My kid is a punk and broke my stuff, now I want AT&T to give me a phone really cheap because I don't want to take responsibility for it."

Or something.

So you'd rename the thread to something totally inaccurate? Why?

Be careful with wirefly.com....their rebate process is built to screw you over. Haven't you heard of Ebay or craigslist?

Crackers.

wirefly looked simple enough to me except they want to renew both phones on the plan, not just mine. Back to $300.
