Default I cant seem to find it...whats stage 1, 2, etc..

What is stage one, its stock right? And what determines stage 2 or 3?

Is it for HP...like stage 1 is 100-199, 2 is 200-299 etc...? I searched my ass off and I couldnt find it...I suck at searching stuff....Thanks

Its not measuring HP, and you'll never find an answer

stages are based on companies 'power packages'. youre thinking about Accessport stages. i think its safe to say stage 2 is a TBE with a tune. after that, everything gets blurry

It varies by company, but as a rule of thumb:

Stage 1: Engine Management

Stage 2: Engine Management + Turboback

Stage 3: Engine Management + Turboback + Bigger TMIC

Stage 4: Engine Management + Turboback + Bigger TMIC + Small Turbo Upgrade/Fuel Support Mods

try advanced search and the drop down menu to search title only. but:

stage 1 is stock with a tune (sometimes an intake and catback are done here)

stage 2 is when a downpipe is added to the catback and a tune is done (also an intake is sometimes seen here as well as an uppipe, inlet tube, and other minor mods)

stage 3 (dont quote me) i think its a 16g/VF39/turbo of same power, plus injectors, fuel pump, bigger TMIC, a tune, and stage 2 mods.

hope this helps. im going stage 2 after the holidays WOOOT

Stage 2 is fun and quite a nice upgrade. But be warned, you will be wanting more after like 2 weeks. Unless you really like the fast spool of the td04, i love it but already would like a vf upgrade.

Gotta tell ya, I had a VF34 on my 2005 WRX (276whp, 263 ft-lbs) and as much as I loved it pulling like a freight train, I always missed the quick spool of Stage 2.

i agree with this a little more than the other one because i think "stage 3" contains a turbo upgrade. What you will learn is that this topic is very subjective and the only thing it's really good for is not having to list out all your mods when describing your cars progress.

No, he's wrong.

Stage 1 = Tune
Stage 2 = Tune + DP
Stage 3 = Tune + DP + TMIC
Stage 4 = Tune + DP + TMIC + Turbo + Injectors + Fuel (if needed)

What you might be confused about is that Cobb's Stage 2.5 included Tune, DP, VF34/16G + Injectors. The reason they called this 2.5 and not 4 is because they were waiting to release their own TMIC for a Stage 3 map. That intercooler and map was never created as they decided instead to release the Pro Tuner and Street Tuner software.

An 18G would make more power, and just about as quickly, the extra 20+whp would make you miss that insta-spool a little less

Hahah probably correct. Although, after 2 years w/ the VF34 the 2.0L blew cylinder #4 so an 18G would of been way too much stress. The 2008 isn't worth modding since the 09 is VF34 fast w/ a full warranty.
