Default Car broken into at work

So... I was all chilling at work this afternoon and I get a call from the VP/CFO of our company. Kinda weird, why would a big shot like that be calling me?

Conversation panned out like this:

VP: Would this be David?
Me: Yep, that'd be me.
VP: Well, I'm sorry to say this but I have some bad news for you.
Me: (thinking to myself): No ****, am I getting fired?
VP: Hines Property Management is reporting that your car may have been broken into.
Me: (A little relieved but still bummed) That's no good. Thanks for letting me know, I'll head down now.
VP: Alright, sorry for the troubles. Take care.

I head down to see a bunch of Hines Property Management and the Parking Garage manager waiting for me so they can take my info. I didn't take any pics unfortunately, but they busted my passenger side window just to take my X50 radar. The radar I keep tucked above the rear-view mirror so its not all hanging out in plain sight. I checked my truck and all my detailing stuff is still there which was probably a good $1000 or so worth of stuff. And my Pioneer F900BT was not even touched either.

Its no biggie I guess since they didn't steal my car. They probably could have taken it since I leave my parking card in there. I park on the 4th floor of our gated garage, next to the elevators, and very well lit... the same little area I've been parking for nearly 2 years. Man, your **** isn't safe anywhere I guess.

Just my little rant. Damn you thieves.

But anyways, does anyone have recommendations for window replacement in Houston? I guess I'll just pay out of my pocket and not hassle with the insurance. This will be a front passenger side glass for a 2004 WRX. If its not too much trouble, I guess I could buy the glass and install it myself.

There is a special busing that most after-market places do not replace. Then your window rattles when partially down until your car gets totaled by some idiot in a Neon. If I ever have to do it again, I will at least get the glass from the dealer, if not just have them do it.

Ironically.. there's no camera in the area I park by even though its right by the elevators where there's decent traffic going through.

I always wondered why it rattled on the driver side when I cracked the window. Several years back a drunk driver backed into my driver side door. Soon after it was replaced, it rattled a bit when I rolled it down just a bit. I'm afraid how much the dealership will rape me on this if I go to them to replace the glass .

Dealership is the way to go. My driver's side window has a thinner glass and it sounds really hollow. I think dealerships charge 500ish for it.

I just took it over to Safelite this morning and they surprisingly fixed me up pretty well. Had no idea it was right down the street from me hidden among the warehouses. Just need to get tint for that window again now :/
